It is herd to get into the dental hygiene program at this school

The professors are very professional and helpful with classes.

It' so easy to get in quickly to see any sort of advisor you need, very fast and effective!

They do have online classes available, but I do wish there were even more available. It can sometimes be difficult to schedule needed classes due to time availability if you're a non traditional student.
College Sophomore 2013-07-05T23:52:49Z
Easy going, and there is always someone available to help quickly if you have any questions. Some of the best teachers I've ever had were right here.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
It's easy to get in touch with Financial Aid advisors and the information is straight forward and comprehensive.

Very friendly, Asheville is known for it's progressive, kind, and "hippie" attitudes, and that is well reflected in the students here.

I'm a non traditional student, I actually already hold a Bachelors and am returning to study Sonography. AB-Tech has been a better experience than I've had at 2 other major 4 year universities. The organization is brilliant, campus is beautiful, teachers seem to be very invested in supporting their students. Couldn't ask for more.

Need better advisors, more grants at school, need more clubs.
College Sophomore 2013-07-02T15:56:55Z
Diversity. Absolutely Love it. People are mostly friendly.

Needs better classrooms for all hours of the day for students. These rooms need to be equipped with good computers like Macs. App State has macs and they are much better.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Hate it. Slow process. The do not help walk you through. I pay many taxes but need help with books and tuition. I have done the loan route before and am struggling to pay those back. I am in need for a grant to help me complete my degree.

I think the LGBT club needs to grow. Diversity is very important.

The registration process is different from my previous college as we don't sit down with our appointed advisor and hash out what we need; instead we do it ourselves online (though I don't understand why we need an educational plan before registering). The teachers I've had so far have been fairly good with the exception of one. The writing center is available for those needing help in english courses.

The theatre program really got a kick in the shorts. There was hardly any money to put on the spring production this year and the drama classes are slowly fading away. The people in the program are decent but things are happening that are out of our control, even whispers of community colleges doing away with theatre all together.

Online classes tend to be less of a hassle. Yes, the work can seem overwhelming but there's no worry about commuting or using gas money. There is far less interaction with people. Depending on one's personality, that could be a positive or a negative thing.
College Junior 2013-05-08T16:24:15Z
From what I've seen, there are people from all walks of life. Theatre is always the most diverse.

AB Tech offers a diverse student body from ages 14 to 84, and possibly higher. I have met students from varied ethnic, economic, political, religious beliefs, and sexual orientation without any issues whatsoever. Diversity and inclusion should be the aim of any institution of higher learning and AB Tech meets and exceeds that expectation.

Given that it's a community college, it's an accurate reflection of the community.

I was prompt with all assignments and throughly did the reading. The workload was fair and I learned a lot from the class. Registration was simple. The professor was very personable even being an online course. There was peer to peer interaction through the discussion boards.

I really love the flexibility. I am hoping to ck out the new South campus later this spring. But, the diploma program I am in, majority of classes are at main campus. Enka campus is closest to me. So, campus sites make flexibility along with great on-line and hybrid classes.
College Senior 2013-03-07T04:45:57Z
I love my 3 on-line and 2 hybrid classes. Its winter time and I don't want to get out of my warm house .. I have made a wise choice to complete these classes on-line. I have not experienced any problems that were resolved within an adequate time. Love it!
College Senior 2013-03-07T04:40:27Z
So far, I am doing ok. Freshman with 5 classes. 3 on line and 2 hybrid.
Classes are at night so, I really do not interact during normal day time hours.
I wish the course schedules were available a little sooner for the next semesters.
College Senior 2013-03-07T04:32:07Z
This grade is based on just a few students. Not feeling that my limited knowledge is significant enough for this to be accurate. So. my classmates are very diversified. Only one man, but, the women are from at least 48 to18.
Working, full time students and part time students.

Academics are largely based on teaching skills with real world application. Registration is not particularly difficult, as long as you have an advisor and ask questions.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
