Campus housing really is not available at Ashland unless you bend the rules. You also have to be 22 to have a house on campus, or you have to be a commuter. Also, our campus is a dry campus, so their are very strict on those rules within the dorms, and everywhere on campus.

The availability of computers if great but the wifi across campus is terrible.

It is a decent cost, but the restrictions are crazy. The parking lots are also very far from classes and you cannot even drive to class here.

Guys & Girls:
It is easy to notice the people because Ashland is so small. But, with that also being said, a lot of people attract to each other and there aren't really many stand outs.

It has been a hassle here and there in the previous years, but this year was definitely the most difficult because my dad's job changed.

Best food in the nation, nationally ranked dining services across campus.

Students are not allowed to live off campus in housing.

There are a lot of pizza places in the area but not a lot of ethnic or anything otherwise.

The university does not enforce much, however there is a lot of things going on. but this is good, so A.

Ashland is a college town with difference like any other town that has a college/university presence. It is located close to the interstate so you can go visiting Columbus or Cleveland. Or just stay in town and explore the city.

The diversity is present in age, gender. Not certain about other areas.

For freshman, you are most likely going to be in the lot across from the rec field behind Clayton. It isn't super convenient but there isn't a whole lot to do in town so it's debatable how much you will actually use your car. It's very easy to get a car on campus but I don't really think that you need one.

The freshman dorms at Ashland are kind of small but I found them to be adequate for me and my roommate. We lived in a double in Clark which is a popular freshman all-girls dorm. The other girls on our floor were fantastic and our RA was amazing.
All of the dorms are pretty close to campus, it just depends on where you want to be. Kem and Amstutz are close to the football field and dining hall but are a little separated from the rest of campus. Clark, Kil, Meyers, and Jacobs are all very close to most of the classrooms and although their older are still really nice. The Senior Apartments are pretty big and are very nice.
The only real issue with Ashland housing is that you have to live on campus all four years unless you are married, have a kid or are over the age of 22.

There really isn't a nightlife at Ashland which isn't a huge problem for me. There really aren't bars or huge parties but I'm sure that if you're into that kind of thing that you will be able to find it here.

Ashland is a school that always seems to be building or planning to build. We have a new Education building that is gorgeous and reminiscent of Hogwarts, an amazing sciences building, a football field that is less than five years old and a rec center that is less than four years old.
Some of the dorms are small and they aren't air conditioned but you don't need to spend that much time in your room! Go out and make friends and spend time in the library or in a study room in Kettering!

Ashland is a small town and so there aren't very many places to eat off campus. There are the normal fast food places that are within walking distance from campus but there aren't a whole lot of places to go.

I'm in the Music program at Ashland and I have to say that the professors are some of the best people that I have ever met. All of them are so eager to help and they really want you to succeed. They all have pretty long (imo) office hours and are very willing to meet with you another time if you have classes during their office hours. I feel comfortable talking with all of the professors and they will all make a point to make you feel that way.
I've only taken a few classes in other departments so far but as a whole I think that the Ashland staff are all really willing to help as long as you're willing to ask for it.

Most of everyone is accepted right into their major. If not, they are put on a "watch" until they are accepted into it. For nursing there is no wait for clinicals and it is still somewhat easy to get right in. There is just one test to take now a days.
College Junior 2013-08-07T15:05:45Z
Our campus is pretty strict about drinking on campus and have opposite sexes on each others floors after 2 am. Our RA's enforce the rules and sometimes don't understand that we are college students who do not live with they're parents anymore.
College Junior 2013-08-07T15:02:54Z
There are many fast food restaurants within walking distance. The nicer places to eat are across town or even about 20 minutes away depending how nice you want to eat.
College Junior 2013-08-07T15:01:13Z
It is convenient that they allow us to have cars on campus. Ashland is a small campus so there is no need for much transportation. They do have a bus that takes people to wal-mart, which is free and very nice.

Safety Services are there to write you up if you are causing someone harm, but for the most part they seem to know when it is necessary to intervene in student partying and when it is okay to look the other way.

Ashland is a small town with all the activity taking place on campus. Off campus the best things to do are taking a trip to walmart and going to bdubs for karaoke night.

Guys & Girls:
The general student body of Ashland is not very diverse. The majority of the students come from the same background of a middle-class American small town family.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
