High Success Rate for State License Exam – My school, Ashland Theological Seminary prepared their students in Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling so well that 89% of them pass the State Licence Exam at the first time, which is a couple of percentage points higher than the national average.

Well Managed – Overall, when I was walking around the main campus in Ashland, I felt really good because the campus was kept very clean and I could see that they were managing the grass, flowers, and trees well. I also like Ashland University Columbus Center, where I will be studying starting from this Fall. The building is small but it gives enough academic atmosphere and it is kept clean.

I Found It Good. I visited the school only once for an interview, and I was able to find a spot for street parking right away. The parking did not seem to be a problem, but it was during summer break, which probably made this difference.

Yet to Experience – I am accepted by Ashland Theological Seminary which is connected to Ashland University, but I will not start school till this Fall. I visited the campus only once when for an interview. So, as much as I would like to share my opinion, I do not have enough knowledge about the school yet.

Drinking Allowed in Designated Areas – Ashland is a dry campus, but in our senior apartments they permit the consumption of alcohol if all roommates in the same room are over the age of 21. I think this is very fair, and if caught outside the safe zones and/or underage the school takes very appropriate actions.

Ashland is a very small campus, so public transportation is not needed, but they do provide a great service of having a bus come by throughout the week to take students who do not have car options to the local Wal-Mart which is located four miles from the school itself.

Cars Are Best Option – They have one bus that will take you to Walmart everyday at 3 for $3 to and from. If you have a car on campus its is the best option because you can go at any time.

You can not live off campus which is annonying. Some of the dorms are okay they were recently remodeled but they still have a lot to go before all the dorms are nice.

They do a fairly good job. I wish they would help you apply for scholarships that apply to you.

Not Sure – I have a C because I can't really say. I don't really go anyway or go out because I want to be in bed at a decent hour. I am more about getting good grade before having fun. If I go out then I would do it on weekends in Kent.

Not Much Help – The financial aid process is horrible. The only help that I receive is FASFA. I am struggling getting through school and have no help.

Greek life is amazing. I have met some, if not all, of my best friends within my sisterhood. In fact, I met all of my bridesmaids in my sorority. My sisterhood has helped me to become the person I am today. I once with shy and stood in the back. But now I am a leader and extremely outgoing. It has taught my responsibility and passion for help others through our philanthropy.

Barely the Basics – We have fast food places and thats about it. There are a couple restaurants. Applebees and Jakes are the only chain restaurants. The rest are small, local places.

Programs Are Solid – Ashland has a pretty good Academics Program all around. Especially the Education Program. It gets you in the field your freshmen year. Yes, there can still be many improvements made but it is a lot better than other places.

NO Night Life – There is nothing to do in Ashland. It is a dry campus. You can not have parties barely anywhere with out getting in trouble. Be careful where you party. No place for people that are 18 on the weekends either.

You Can Walk Everywhere – The campus is the perfect size. It is not to big but at the same time not to small. If you have a car on campus the only reason you would need to use it is if you travel off of campus. Everything is within minutes of dorms and academic buildings.

Sports Are Good – The baseball team here on campus is one of the best division two programs in the country. Our swim team is solid. Our womens basketball team made it to the national championship game this past year 2012. The football team has not been historically good but it is turning around. Our softball team has been really good the past four years making several runs in the postseason.

Guys & Girls:
Not a Lot of Girls Here – The girls that are on campus are either taken or are not the type of girl that you would want to date. They are however really nice and easy to get along with.

The rules at this school can be rough. But if you follow the rules and have an open mind you will have a great time. The people here are amazing and so is the food!

The parking lots are big with plenty of room for everyone however if you don't park in your lot you WILL get a ticket. They are very strict with that.

Small Town With a Home-Like Atmosphere – Small town with a home-like atmospher. There's not a lot to do but for the small city it offers a lot to us. I always feel safe and at home when I'm at school.

They are very loud, friendly, and weird. There are no Greek houses for the girls only guys

They were all recently updated, so they are very nice. We have a top of the line gym for the athletes.

Small Town Feel – Ashland has a very small town feel. Not to much going on, everyone tends to go home unless your favorite sport is in sesason.

Pros of Biology – Seeing that my school is smaller allows all the Biology majors to interact with each other. Also everyone knows each other and are comfortable when around one another.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
