Permit costs are 50 dollar, plus every parking ticket is $25 and up. After third ticket your permit is taken away. You have to walk 15 minutes from your dorm to your car, which is terrible!

The workload is very manageable for students and fits into one being able to graduate on time. I really commend the school in finding the best way for students to be successful in the right amount of time.

Ashland is a pretty cool place to go if your not interested in the super crazy party life schools like Ohio University. The reason I like Ashland so much is because there nursing program is awesome. Ill give up the party life for a good degree.

Surronding Food Options – Directy next to campus there is a buffalo wild wings where food is decently priced and you can watch sports that arent available on campus. Also near to campus is a taco bell, friendlys, subway, wendys, and mcdonalds. There are also many pizza places around campus that deliver.

The people on campus can be very closed-minded. Everyone is very cliquey!!! Everyone is also very conservative and religious.

Rooms Are Small – When you visit campus they show you a triple in Kem. They never show you Kilhefner which has rooms about half the size and their furniture is falling apart. The rooms are extremley small. In most dorms you can't unbunk the beds.

Never Open – Everywhere in the city of Ashland is closed by midnight. As a college student you're usually up a lot later than that. Convo closes at 7 everyday and the hours at eagle's nest are always changing so you never know when its open

Terrible Lots – We get the worst lots around the hospital. Careful where you park so you don't get a flat tire. Passes cost 50$ and if you park in the lots you're not supposed to you will get a fine.

In the dorms there is a no drinking policy, unless you are of age, and you discuss it with your RA. There are quiet times and if you are appropriate drinking in the dorms is ok. There are many bars and places to go if you want to drink, and cheap cabs !

Health & Safety:
Safety at the Nursing School – I am at the Mansfield campus at the hospital. I feel relatively safe, except there could be better lighting, and the parking lots could be better. Don't park behind the dairy queen, wood street parking is better! Have to be careful not to get a flat tire, and make sure you have security saved in your phone in case you need an escort.

There are many white people that go here but also there are many students of other ethnicity that go here as well. Many people that go here are well off on money because Ashland is kind of an expensive college.

There is a lot of fast food places here that are open late and they are pretty cheap to. Also, there are many sit down/ nice restaurants here if you are looking for a date or just a casual night dinner. Prices around here for food and drinks are vary cheap.

There are computer labs all over campus. Sometimes a few of the labs are full but then you just go to a different lab and there will be available spots. There is always computers open here. Also the internet access is pretty good here everywhere on campus you can receive internet.

Varies from Major to Major – Some of the majors are, in my opinion, excellent. The Philosophy and Political Science programs are both challenging and encouraging. I cannot speak specifically about the other majors, but from what I have seen, they do not appear to be very challenging.

Greek Is Gross – Ashland has Greek life, yes, but it is not at the forefront. I avoid it at all costs, which is not a hard thing to do. There are frat houses and sorority suites. One does not have to live in those to be a member.

Kem Is the Best – Kem is the dorm that I live in. It is all girls. We joke that it is the "hotel" on campus, but that is true. The rest of the dorms fall in comparison. However, the senior apartments are nice!

Small Town Charm – Ashland, Ohio is quite a quaint little town. It is small, but that is not a bad thing. The people friendly and warm. You will find many small town attractions. Grandpa's Cheese Barn is a crowd favorite. Right in the heart is Ashland University. What more could you need?

Health & Safety:
Special Security Measures – The University has gone out and put more emergency posts around campus.

Great Experience – Ashland has a lot to offer and has a lot of great activities to be involved in. Mostly people are here to study and parties aren't as common as many people think. If I had to do it again I would definitely choose Ashland.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
