Instead of taking away the aid when the required GPA is not obtained, the finance office gives students a provisional year to earn the GPA needed.

Assumption does offer a lot of financial aid, however I found that each year you lost more and more aid and the price of the school consequently increased. You definitely need to keep copies of all your financial aid letters together so you can compare them year to year. Also do not be afraid to call and fight for more aid, because there always seems to be a little bit more money if you are willing to work for it.

Fairly good assessment of what you're family needs for help. However, they were not willing to increase my financial aid once I had completed a semester. I had to maintain a 2.9 to keep my aid but my graduate school requirement was a minimum of 3.4 so it was obvious I could keep it but they still wouldn't give me more money

This school has wonderful financial aid! I transferred and Assumption helped me with questions that my own school wouldn't answer. They give lots of scholarships and have options to help those students who are struggling financially. The financial aid office on campus is huge and there is always someone ready to help. I have had NO problems working with the Assumption College financial aid.

Could Be Better – I am not dirt poor but I am not rich. I received a decent financial aid compared to other students. BUT they all have millions compared to what my parents make. If you make appointments with the financial aid they will listen but you have to get your point across. If you tell them you need money they will take a second look and try their best. Also getting good grades will help you get more money if needed.
