Taxis suck, even though the school has a program with them. However, there are two shuttles that run to bring students to specific areas in Worcester or neighboring cities. If your friend has a car, make sure you become their best friend.

There are buses on the weekends that go to movie theaters and close shopping malls but no buses that take you into the city. If you want something in the city, you need to find a friend with a car or take a taxi. Freshmen aren't allowed to have a car on campus freshmen year, which is typical but really frustrating if you ever have to go off campus to get medicine, cleaning supplies, bath supplies etc. For the last month of my freshmen year I sneaked my car on campus in the overflow parking lot and never had any issues or tickets but the tickets can get super pricey. On the weekends for late night there is "Safe Ride" which has the ride back to Assumption a flat $5 rate no matter where you are in Worcester, which is definitely nice especially for keeping drunk drivers off the road. But other than that, a car is definitely necessary.

Assumption is good about public transportation. We have this contract with the yellow cabs in the city of Worcester that any time after 10pm, a cab ride to Assumption is only 5 dollars. This is known as "safe ride" and works to help reduce the cases of drunk driving. We also have WOO bus schedules posted every where that take you to almost any local shopping center.

They have shuttles for the weekends that go to the same places: one mall and a few schools, but the schedules are not very accessible.

I don't use the transportation at Assumption, but they do have the Woo Bus which will bring you to some malls/shopping areas in Worcester. Also, there are plenty of cabs, which can take you anywhere you want. Honestly though, unless you're going to go out, then there's no need to use a cab or anything. My roommate just stays on campus almost all the time because everything you need is right on campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
