There are plenty of computers for student use.
College Senior 2013-11-11T02:23:42Z
There is no need for off campus parking, there are more than enough spots on campus, and all are close to where you need to be.
College Senior 2013-11-11T02:22:45Z
This University is not really geared towards campus life. As said before, most students commute.
College Senior 2013-11-11T02:20:40Z
I don't know anything about this, I live an hour from school.
College Senior 2013-11-11T02:19:36Z
I don't know of any happening nightlife places to go.

Guys & Girls:
The student population is made up of younger and older people. Some career changers, and some returning for certification.
I have found that a lot of the students are lacking in intelligence, and are very "country". Their grammar is atrocious, and I am amazed that some of them made it into a teacher education program.

There are no athletics, there are no varsity sports, there is only a really really old gym, for P.E. Majors and education majors.
College Senior 2013-11-11T02:12:48Z
There isn't any. This is a two year (last 2 years) University and it is basically a commuter school. Like I mentioned before, most people drive a long way to get there.
College Senior 2013-11-11T02:11:24Z
I don't mind eating fast food, but that is the majority of what there is around there. There are a few chain restaurants and what not, but we are in an area where most people drive about 45 minutes or more to get to class and I have yet to meet anyone in my classes who actually lives there. So usually, we just get fast food between classes or before we start are drive home.

I didn't have any issues getting into my program, other than being misinformed about some classes that I needed. The admissions requirements didn't seem overly strict to me.

I haven't had one yet, but it is unpaid… it is 75 days long and 7-4 (a typical teacher's day). I am concerned about my placement, because the office that is in charge of placement is understaffed and not very helpful. They let you select your school district and 3 schools of choice, but don't tell you that they don't place in certain districts.
College Senior 2013-11-11T02:03:40Z
The strictest thing that I have noticed is making sure students dress and act professionally during field experience; using LockDown Browser to ensure students do not cheat on online tests; and honor code with cheating, plagiarism, and bringing students up against the professional review board.

There is no true cafeteria, dining hall. There is a small coffee shop that sells sandwiches, and maybe brownies and such...

Health & Safety:
I think that my school is located in a relatively safe place and the campus is small, I haven't ever felt uneasy, even getting out around 9 or 10 pm.
We Don't Have a Health/Fitness Center

Weather hasn't affected my campus experience at all, I haven't missed school due to weather.

Not many sports but they are trying to pick it up!

Although there is not a ton of sit down places, there are a ton of convenient fast food close to Athens. I have not found a ton of places to sit down, but I am always looking for new and good places to eat.
College Junior 2013-09-23T13:08:08Z
Athens is a small town in Alabama and I'm from Dora Alabama so I'm use to a small place. I like that every thing is close and there's not a ton of people and you can get to know the people you have a lot better and have closer relationships with them. But there is plenty to do in Athens to keep busy outside of classwork.

I do not like their wireless acess for your phone. You can not do anything but go to their site which is not why I joined the access point. But they do give you like 250 free pages to start with, with printing.

They enforce the rules from what I can see, they give you the warning the first week and then they do not play around after that, but as long as you do what you need to do then they do not bother you.
College Sophomore 2013-09-12T16:12:44Z
I don't stay on the campus long enough to know of any parties to talk about and I stay busy with my two jobs.

The process is quite straight forward. The adviser provides the check list of items to be eligible for admission. It was not provided online but these were the general checklist, with transcripts, any certificates, bank statement, cosigner if required, minimum gpa requirements and the application form with a fee. The admission criteria was to have a declared major but it could be changed at a later period if the student wanted to change the major. The tip for admission would be to have all the scores ready as necessary ahead of time and to meet with the adviser ahead of time to get the process started.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
