My course of study is physical therapy. I am back in school after many years of owning a construction business. After two back surgeries, and one on my knee. I decided that this would be a good progarm for me since I have a lot of practical knowledge about it, but that's not to say it is easy. This is a competitive based progarm at my school. You can only apply for it once a year, and they only accepts a limited number of students. So you must be at the top of your class to even get in the progarm. This can be challenging with a heavy workload, so time management skills are extermely important to do well. If you can focus and keep your eye on the prize you can be successful, and success in this progarm is a one way ticket to a great job, because it has an extremely high employment rate for graduates. In fact most of the employers in the area are looking for you before you even graduate.

This school is great because my class schedule works with my busy life. Athens Tech offers many different hours for each class so you always have time for work, family, and friends. The down side is not all the classes offered are transferable to four year universities.

Most of the people are like me, working while taking classes and it is nice to know that other people can relate to juggling work and school.

It is extremely easy to figure out, and the professors are readily available for help just as if I were in a regular class. It worked out well for me since I have a job, and still need to work throughout college. It was nice you could chat with other students if any questions should arise. You learn how to be independent and I feel like I took more time to study and really learn the information.

I have not graduated yet, but from what I have seen it will be an easy transition from school to finding a career.

There are plenty of computer labs and printing stations available. The network is reliable. I'm not sure about wireless because I've never used it. Unless taking an online course, which typically would be taken from home, it's not absolutely necessary to have a home computer/printer. I do all my printing from school so I don't have to use my ink/paper.

There are a few clubs that provide campus activities. The library is decent and meets general needs however, I would suggest the Athens-Clarke County library instead.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I receive both Hope & Pell but to get help from the Financial Aid office if there is ever a problem or question is an absolute NIGHTMARE! They do not answer the phone or emails. If you want something done, you have to go to the school, stand in line, and ultimately make multiple trips.

I have no problem getting on the network at the school. There has only been one instance where Angel was down, and they got it up and running very quickly.
College Senior 2013-01-06T16:32:25Z
I like that they offer a lot of core classes for programs. Because of this, I am able to work around my schedule and take the classes I need when I need them.

Most of the students at my school, just seem to go to school to get their education and leave. Most people are working people, with full-time or part-time jobs which their school is scheduled around. Socializing and making new friends isn't a main concern here and most people just make classroom friends.
College Junior 2013-01-02T17:27:50Z
The facilities on campus are fair, it seems like there is always campus activities going on. We have a great student center, and a great library.
College Junior 2013-01-02T17:24:56Z
My school really cares about getting people onto there feet, it has a lot of great programs available and advisors are always on hand to help with all of your needs.
College Junior 2013-01-02T17:22:05Z
There is always a computer available if needed, there are even computer labs that teachers can go to if students need a computer during class. Also, if you want to print things you have to pay $0.10 a page, which can get expensive if you have a lot of pages. The network usually don't give teachers and students much issues, but there have been a few cases when it was down.

My only draw back is they don't offer enough classes at satalite campuses and sometimes that means students have to drive 30+ minutes for an hour or so long class. Other than that I love the teachers the classes and the environment.

I have been lucky enough to have good online courses.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The people in financial aid are not the friendliest or the smartest.

The computers are extremely slow and there are always issues with them even working. Access to printers is wonderful. I have never had any difficulty with a wireless connection. I usually just use my laptop unless I have to print something out since it is so much quicker than the computers they provide at school.

The student center is very small and doesn't have microwaves for students to bring their own food and heat it up between classes. I have tried tutoring at school but haven't gotten a lot of help from them. It is very limited on what classes students can get help with. Whenever I have gone in there, there are always the same students that go there every day. Because of this, everyone knows each other and it is noisy and it is hard to get face time with the tutor. I find myself being ignored.

The student body is very diverse. They are all hard working and don't just try for a good enough grade to pass on to the next course. Most of the students work outside of going to school and have families of their own. Like me, these students face time management challenges on a daily basis and manage to achieve their goals, even if their sleep schedule has to be compromised.
College Senior 2012-12-11T23:43:33Z
They are not enough labs on campus. They should have one in every building. And you have to print items. The network though is awesome. Most communication is done through email, which makes things easier.
College Senior 2012-12-11T23:41:29Z
Student center is very nice. The library is very nice resource for information as well
College Senior 2012-12-11T23:40:35Z
Most students here work and go to school. So I do not see a lot of time for other activities. But the people are vry friendly.

This is my first semester at the school. However, stats show over 80% who take the Biotechnology program go right into the job field or transfer into UGA to finish their bachelor's degrees.
College Senior 2012-12-11T23:35:54Z
The classes and teachers are great! The biotechnology program is awesome! I am giving the school a B due to the lack of knowlegde of personnel in the registration and financial aid. The personnel were not able to help me. ANd the school does not offer any outside resources to help with the aid of cost. I believe the school should offer sub./unsub loans.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
