Student Resources – My school offers excellent resources to the students in need of them. They have a cafeteria with great food, a library filled with books and other resources needed by the student body. The library even stays open late during midterms and final exam periods. There are also many campus activities such as: field trips, sports and a wide variety of programs available for student in any field of study.

Alumni Network Weak – There are very few alumni events held on campus. Graduating students do not know there is an alumni chapter. The alumni chapter does not sponsor anything for students. They have little or no visible presence.

Is It for You – Depending on the subject, there are some classes that I do better online than others. Having an instructor that is accessible in person and well as online is always helpful. If future assignments are accessible take advantage of it. Create an online study group. I could set my on workload to manage my time.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Start Early – Start early in filing for your financial aid. The process in very detailed if you are applying for the first time. The tuition fees are not bad for a community college. You get a good educational foundation for an associate degree. There are no fluff classes offered. You do have to work to earn your degree.

We have access to computers int he library also, with printing options. If you do not have a personal computer and printer at home, you can use the labs at school. I have never experience a wait to use technolgy.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
After I completed the paper work, and resubmitted paper that was lost the process went smoothly. The staff was very understanding. When I see the financial aid staff out on campus the ask who my classes are coming along. Great experience!

They have extra help available. You can either choose to have a tutor, or use other resources such as online help from the courses given.

The facilities to me are beneficial. The school has a mandatory orientation class which opens the door to all the programs and offices available at the school to aid students in anyway.campus activities include the habit for humanity volunteer program, financial workshops, learning center for students who need to be tutor. Ive use all of these programs and they helped me out a lot while attending this class.

If you like Ghetto-fied school's then this is perfect for you. Whatever you do stay FAR away from this school. I find faculty to be very disrespectful and rude. I hated this school the minute I walked into the admission Office and was greeted with "What do you need". Theres a lady working in the admissions office who is extremly ghetto and complained about how we were taking up her time and that when it was her time to clock and and go she was going because she had "better" things to do. I hate to say it but I was treated 1,000 times better by faculty and teachers at my previous school which was predomintely WHITE...yes I said it. Faculty at black colleges always seem to have these nasty attitudes. Either that or they try to patronize you and speak to you as if your some young lost child. Aside from faculty being complete azsholes the finance office screwed up my Post 9/11 Gi Bill (which pays for my college) and now I'm stuck with some ridicoulous balance on my student account which means my transcripts can't be released until its removed. Mind you this has been going on for nearly 3 months and my father has gone up there numerous time to have them fix it and they have yet to get crap right. I hate this school. It's complete garbage. If you live in the Fairburn area I'd recommend going to a community college in Douglasville or GMC.

The Network Is Great – Atlanta metropolitan computer network is great. The system is always running only problem I have is the beginning of fall and spring semesters because everyone is getting their classes, but what school doesn't have that problem. The one thing I would want to change is after 12am you cant log in to see personal things on you student account.

Good Career Center – My school is setup to prepare all students to enter into a four year institution. Therefore, for what they do I feel they do an excellent job.

I would rate most of the students as goal oriented. Going to school with these student pushes me to compete for better grades. Unfortunately, there are a few students that treat school as an extension of high school. However, I believe that it is not the job of any school to baby sit anyone. Especially, those that are looking to waste time. As in life those individuals will eventually, get weeded out.

My Music professor was fantastic. Professor Emmel was a constant professional and very engaging to all her students. Although the class was online she was able to create an atmosphere that made me feel as though I was in an actual classroom. Moreover, since I had been out of school for sometime it was a great transition class for me.

Great Experience – I enjoy attending AMC and will miss this school when I graduate. When it was time for me to choose my classes I was glad they had classes that easily fit into my schedule. The computer labs were very convenient and I enjoyed completing my assignments on campus.

Never Again – Atlanta Metropolitan College has some of the worst staff and faculty members. They aren't really helpful, they have attitude problems. The teachers/proffesors have an habit of calling students grades out in front of the whole class, which is not only unprofessional but against school policy.

Flexibility Is No Issue – Classes are offered at two different campuses 7 days a week. This is very convenient to fit work schedules and personal schedules. Classes are given from 8a to 10p.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
