Required Tech Skills
Taking an online class at ACCC requires only basic computer skills. Instructions for classes are explained in the course and are very simple to follow.
Typical Online Lecture - Single Day
The professor gives instructions and information, and it is up to the student to view and participate in lectures. Lectures include group discussion and related activities.
Typical Online Course - Start to Finish
A typical course lasts around three hours, with a medium workload, group discussion, and an occasional testing day or project presentation. The typical online course is fairly simple to navigate, although the classes sometimes become more of a peer-to-peer session than a set of students being taught by a professor.
Online Testing & Grading
Many online tests are open book, and some can be completed in groups, depending on the professor. Grading is done based on whether a student submits work on time, in addition to the work being complete and acceptable. Most of the grades are usually tests, with some additional assignments, such as papers.
