Everything went smoothly. I just wish there had been more financial aid options.

What makes Auburn Unique is the people here. Everyone fits in and everyone is welcome. When you come to Auburn, you have truly become part of the Auburn family and that family is what the whole atmosphere is centered around.

Auburn University has a great Aerospace program. There is a lot of work, but there needs to be to better prepare students for the workforce. One thing that I believe is unique to Auburn is the amount of opportunities to get involved. I am part of the Auburn AHAB team which is a branch of the Auburn University Space Program and I do not believe I would have been able to accomplish what I have at any other school.

Good Housing Options – Off campus housing is abundant and convenient. There are many different options close to campus and a bit farther. The tiger transit runs to pretty much every apartment complex and neighborhood where college students live so parking isnt really and issue and the whole town over all is very safe.

The overall academics at Auburn is very good. It is a well rounded school with a lot of different opportunities for different fields of study, study abroad, internship experience, etc.
The registration process, while somewhat frustrating, is pretty efficient with a completely electronic process that you can complete while laying in bed.
The professors are exceptional. Each one I have encountered is willing to go out of their way to help students succeed.

Auburn is amazing, I have been going to visit my whole life and can't believe I will be going for real this fall! I always feel semi- safe and comfortable there. Everyone is always nice and polite to each other. The local stores are always opened at the right hours and shopping is always possible. Sometimes, the night life can get a little wild, but this is college so that is totally expected. The campus and the town are totally incredible and it is a thrill to get to go and say War Eagle!

Pell Grant and Loans – I have to pay for school myself and although I did receive Pell Grant it does not pay for everything, so I was forced to take out loans that the school offered. The process is fine, but it could always be better. They will help you with anything you need.

Walk and Ride – If you live on campus you can walk to the bars, most of them are located right on the corner. If you do not live on campus you can call the drunk bus, to come get you and take you home, for free! Excellent during football games too.

Health & Safety:
Completely Safe – I always feel safe at Auburn University. The city of Auburn itself is not big, it is mainly the campus. I feel much safer at school than I do in my own neighborhood, about 45 min away from Auburn.
College Junior 2012-03-21T23:28:45Z
Clean to the Eye – Compared to other schools, Auburn doesnt show its drug and alcohol consumption. Of course some students are doing these things but there not like top activities I guess you could say. Auburn is a clean and relatively safe place.
College Junior 2012-03-21T23:21:46Z
There Are a Good Bit – There are many different places to eat off campus and many are located very close to the schools. I havent had to many discounts from the food places. Cheeburger Cheeburger is a very good choice to go eat. They offer a wide variety for a decent cost, plus the food is really good.

Camebridge Off-Campus – It is absolutely terrible, needs no more explanation

Health & Safety:
Safe Enough – There isnt a whole lot that could happen at Auburn with it being far from any major city. But i feel very safe when on campus and there are police officers and people everywhere, so it is unlikely that something would happen.

A Family – Auburn gives you a warm family feeling from the first day you step on campus. everyone is so nice and friendly!

it is alright, but if you dont live on campus and dont get involved its not very much fun. its very important to actually attend classes

Auburn is a very clean very involved hometown style town. There is always something to do whether it is going to the library, dog parks, football games, baseball games and other sporting events, playing golf, clubs on campus, or shopping.

The vast majority of students bring a car, and it's highly recommended but totally doable without. I did not bring a car and everything on campus and many things off-campus (Downtown Auburn for example) are in walk distance. Don't want to walk? The Tiger Transit system is well-designed, fast, and very well maintained. There's a lot of different buses and destinations - you should have no problems getting anywhere you need to be on campus and some places off as well. In addition to that we have the security shuttles (known by the students as the "drunk bus"). There are a bunch of these white vans driving around campus to pick students up and take them where ever they need to go. It's pretty easy to just run into one but you can also call and get on sent straight to you to pick you up.

The Greek/Non-Greek divide is A LOT worse at other schools, don't get me wrong. And Auburn really does try it's best to keep the Frats from hurting people but... the system is what it is. Some pretty intense horror stories come out of the supposedly banned hazing in the Frats. The Sororities don't do anything like that (no hazing going on there) but they do put a lot of societal and mental pressure on the girls. You can pretty easily avoid all of it and I highly recommend that you do frankly.

For a while the AU WiFi was a bit of a running joke. It can be very slow sometimes - but there's excellent coverage on campus and for all the complaints I hear I've never had a single problem with it. Further, the problems that were occurring seem to be resolved. There are tons of computer labs available at any and all hours so you're all set there! I can't imagine a college at which you wouldn't need to bring a personal computer (most classes have at least some parts online and checking your TigerMail frequently is MANDATORY). However, there are plenty of computers on campus for your use. I brought my own printer but the CopyCat in the student center and elsewhere can help you print, fax, and generally do anything you want. The people there are very informed and helpful! It is a little pricey though, so bringing a printer or not is really a matter of personal choice.

Tiger Transit – Tiger Transit is literally everywhere! Parking in a lot or riding from your apartment to the campus is easy with Tiger Transit Buses!

Mechanical Engineering – Auburn University is a top-notch school with Engineering degree plans. This University has more staff devoted to this major than any other major at the University, and the attentiveness of the staff and professors are second to none! Advisors make every effort to assign the curriculum to a student in the best interest of success in their subject areas. Additionally, the facility of Auburn offers unique internships designed to assist students in their "Engineering Success" and ease of transition to the working world following graduation.

We have transit buses that travel students from off-campus to campus. This helps alot tremendously for students who do not cars or can't find parking.
College Senior 2012-02-29T21:43:48Z
Computer Labs – We have many computer labs around our campus with different types of computers to fit the students' preferability.

Cheap and Convenient – Off campus dining is very popular among Auburn students. We don't have to travel far in order to find great places to eat, which also offer nice food at a low cost.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
