The computers at Auburn are really good. They have tech people ready to help if there is a problem. I believe that having a laptop is better for the student. There is wireless access all throughout campus.

Not Too Bad – I don't spend alot of time on campus because of field sampling, but I haven't heard anything bad. They have lax rules during football game days.

Off Campus – I live off campus and am a graduate student, so the dorms and fraturnities are not for me. However, I have heard great things about the undergraduates and housing options.

Football Is Huge – With Auburn University ranked number 1 in the country, the entire campus is electric. Everyone is excited for the next game. Tailgating and going to the games is very hard to beat, though catching the game on the radio and hearing how our university does, sends chills down my spine (in a good way). Its great to have a reputation as a sporting community.

I Believe in a Spirit That Is Not Afraid. Auburn is the home to many outstanding athletes and school spirit. We are home to olympic athletes and the national champion swimming and diving teams. The most popular sport, of course, is football. (We are in the SEC.) Fall Saturdays in Jordan Hare Stadium are electric. Words cannot wholly express the how amazing it is that the Auburn Family joins together each week in support for our team. The Auburn Creed, which the football players know by heart, states "...I believe in a sound mind, in a sound body, and a spirit that is not afraid, and in clean sports that develop these qualities..." This creed is truly personified each week by not only the players, but the fans, students, alumni, and Auburn Family as a whole. Win or lose, we stick by our tigers.

The Loveliest Village on the Plains – Auburn is set in east Alabama, about 40 minutes from the Georgia line. It is considered in the "plains" of Alabama, which is a vast area of semi-flat land. The most beneficial product of being set in the plains are the beautiful sunsets. They are a nightly occurrence that never cease to disappoint. The local atmosphere is of genuine hospitality. This hospitality was recently honored in an article written by visitors from South Carolina, who had come in town for a football game. Even though their team lost the game, they made a point to highlight the true hospitable nature of Auburn Men and Women. The Auburn Creed is not merely a document, but a lifestyle illustrated by those who attend.

Above Average SEC School – The registration process and counselors/advisors are absolutely amazing. Registering is very user-friendly, and the advisors are always available for questions. For the most part, my professors have been both knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects. The curriculum is time consuming, but manageable. My only complaint is the availability of tutors for the athletes that are not available to non student athletes.

They're GREAT!! The bands that come through Auburn are AMAZING!! Cops could care less about underage drinking; only drawback is it BYOB!

Guys & Girls:
We all love Auburn and so we all love each other like a big family!! Everyone on this campus is beautiful inside and out!! :)

Not sure about school-provided computers, they are usually available during the day, but you can get WiFi everywhere, so if you have your own computer, its not a problem!!

Go greek freshman year – If you don't join a frat/sorority you will be so bored! There is absolutely nothing to do on campus party-wise if you're not greek. All hot girls only go for frat guys. You can't get into the bars until you're 19.

Auburn has very good academic programs, especially engineering and architecture. They also have pretty good dining options, if you aren't vegetarian/vegan. They have several nice study abroad options. They also save you money on gas and parking with their transit system which is very handy, and goes almost anywhere you could possibly live.

Tons of Greek – Most of the Greek students talk too much and are extremely cliquey. Their housing is extremely nice, sorority girls live in the village which are new and very nice. However, Greek students rarely talk to someone who doesn't have the Greek alphabet on their clothing.

Limited Dining – There are several options for me to eat, but besides a couple variations it's mostly sandwiches. A couple things are relatively cheap, but you can't spend less than 7 or 8 bucks for a meal and drink. Hardly any vegan or vegetarian options.

The C lot on campus is the only parking that a student can obtain. A and B lots are for faculty and staff only. This makes it difficult to get to class on time if you do not plan ahead to look for parking. Ticketing is ridiculous because you can be ticketed for almost anything. Some fines are fairly cheap, but all in all the parking right off of campus is much better than on campus.

The Student ACT Needs Work – The current student activities center is old and outdated, however there are already plans for construction for a renovated center. The computer labs are up to date for the most part, and the recent construction on campus has made Auburn a campus with some of the newest buildings in the country. The library is old, but it is well kept up and I enjoy visiting it for studying. The campus is the most gorgeous place you have ever seen; The Plains can't be beat!

Health & Safety:
You Couldn't Ask for a Safer Campus – The security on campus is great. There is a security shuttle which will take you anywhere on campus at any time of the night. If it is after 6 PM and you need a ride from campus to somewhere off campus, then you can take the night transit safely. In regards to special security measures, there are police all over campus at any point and time ready to help a person in need. There are also cameras set up around campus in various entrances to buildings. I feel safe on Auburn's campus at ANY time of the day or night, and I would be stunned if the school could make it much safer.

Apartments Are Everywhere! Everywhere you turn there are apartments ready to rent. They are pretty average in price and all are in great condition. Even though some may be farther away, we have a transit system that is wonderful. I would recommend off campus housing to everyone.
College Senior 2010-08-09T15:55:46Z
Tiger Transit – Buses are part of the tuition fees at Auburn. The Tiger Transit can take you anywhere on campus and to a few off campus locations. There's even a late night bus.

At Auburn it's harder for a black student to be accepted by the white kids. Honestly. But everyone seems to stay o themselves.

All the Hot Spots – Off campus dining at Auburn University is excellent. There are so many different restaurants such as McDonald's, Moe's, Chick-fil-A, etc. All at great prices.

Nightlife in Auburn can be really fun. Some of the bars are known for being a bit shady, so they can be avoided. Other well-known ones and house parties can be looked forward to when you want to have a good time.
Recent Alumnus 2010-07-28T16:15:28Z
Labs Are First-Come First-Serve – The computer labs at Auburn University are crowded about half the time. Most people have a laptop that they bring on campus to use the WiFi, but more computers in certain areas of campus would be nice.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
