Even though Greek participation reaches just 1/3 of the overall student body, much of the social interaction revolves around (or at least includes) Greek life.

Applying for financial aid was somewhat of a hassle but I ended up getting what I needed. Although a little more scholarship money never hurt anyone. I also applied for multiple scholarships which did in fact help a great deal. But while the process of applying for scholarships or financial aid seems overwhelming and intimidating; it can be very rewarding. The more scholarships you apply for the more chances you have of receiving! Take the chance and apply, who knows it could all work out in your favor!

Being a Sports Management major at Auburn where they do not offer this degree is a little discomforting. Although I am taking other college's curriculum for their sports management programs and fitting it into my own, it still makes me a little nervous. I will only be getting my bachelor's from Auburn, and I will go on to get my masters then I will be attending law school. Even though it is a lot of school, I know in the end it will pay off.

The typical internship in my opinion is training you for the real world. Whether that being getting coffee for an executive or taking notes on a marketing pitch; the world of being an intern is full of possibilities. The pay for an intern will differ. Things that will be taken into account on that subject will be; other work experience, new employee, how many other interns, etc. The pay could be minimum wage or not a single dollar. Time commitment is going to be that of a real job, 40 hour work week. Responsibilities are important and can vary. I haven't participated in an internship yet, but I am currently looking in hopes of finding one for this upcoming summer.

The parking on Auburn's campus is absolutely awful. While some of the parking might be close to your dorm, there is never a parking space. But then there are so many other different scenarios; say you park in a Auburn parking lot named R; well that is totally fine if you live in the residence halls in the Village but say you live in the Quad. Looks like you are going to have to walk 15-20 minutes. Or for instance you park in RO and you live in the Hill, that walk will take you 30 minutes minimum. Also, Auburn's parking service tickets people like crazy. If your car is parked in the wrong area for 15 minutes consider it either ticketed or towed. So warning to all who will drive to Auburn's campus, parking is terrible.

Auburn University is a southern school in the heart of Dixie. Which means two very important things; Auburn is a SEC school and football is treated like a religion down here. Those factors being said, game days are fun and full of excitement but also alcohol. The policies at Auburn are very strict about alcohol whether it be on game day or in the residence halls. The police force are known in Auburn for handing out MIP (minor in possession) out like pieces of candy on Halloween. If you get caught going to the stadium on game day with alcohol on your person you automatically get an MIP, your parents get called, and you aren't allowed to attend that game. If you get caught again, your tickets for the rest of the season are revoked. And if you happen to get caught a third time, you will no longer be allowed to purchase or attend any football games as an Auburn student in Jordan-Hare Stadium. With all of that being said, just follow the rules. Drink if you're of age and don't drink if you aren't legal.

I received a good amount of financial aide. I only wish for my last semester that I could have used the money for Fall and Spring. I couldn't do that so my last semester ended up being really expensive.

There are a ton of great food places on and within walking distance of campus. Whatever you are in the mood for Auburn has. They have restaurants all over campus so no matter where you are there is dining place near by. The meal plan is great and if you end up taking online classes or are off campus they will allow you to not pay for the dining plan.

Auburn has so many opportunities for students like study abroad, co-op, internships, and programs students can participate in. I actually have the opportunity to go work at Disney in the college program and Auburn is a huge supporter of them. A lot of my friends have worked at Disney and Auburn has representatives on campus which is helpful when you have any questions.

Auburn has great facilities and the campus is great! They have built a new arena and rec center for the students. They have good food on campus and lots of things to do in between classes. There are numerous organizations that students can join and each organization holds a lot of free events the students can go to.

Transportation is really good. The only thing they could improve on is offering late night transportation different nights of the week other than Friday and Saturday. Or expand the security shuttle to drop students off at off-campus locations.

The school is majority Caucasian, with the minorities at a minimum. There are ways to connect with other minority groups, but they are not a prevalent force on campus.

The computer labs are plenty at Auburn. There are multiple in almost every building and you can even check laptops out to use in the library.

Nothing is better than a great party at a Fraternity. Nightlife downtown is hard to get into if you are under 21, but I have found that most people either go to Fraternities or house parties.

Brand new Rec and Wellness center. Voted #1 in the country. All new building including dorms, the new Auburn Arena and medical facilities just to name a few. There is always something new being added to Auburn.

Guys & Girls:
Being from New York, the Southern Belles are absolutely stunning and just perfectly southern. Basically a dream girl. The guys dress nicely and don't lose their southernness which is awesome because the southern way is the right way to go.

Sadly I live in the worst on campus housing Auburn has to offer, yet it's still much nicer than some of the nicest dorms at other schools. In The Hill, where I live, the rooms are outdated yet large and functional. Not to mention they are getting completely renovated this summer. The Quad is much cleaner and central to campus but the rooms are small. Now, here is the fun part, The Village is absolutely huge, tons of different halls that feature 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room in every suite. Absolutely stunning. In case that wasn't good enough though, Auburn just built a brand new residence hall, South Donahue. The hall is composed of 49% athletes and features 4 bed, 2 bath, washer and dryer in each room, a kitchen, a living area and each room has a 42inch TV. You truly cannot go wrong.

Many campus police and emergency personnel located throughout the campus. All first aid centers are clearly marked and mapped.
