Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Auburn is football, as some people say down here. Students rave about the high energy and school spirit that is displayed on game days. You don’t have to worry about getting bored around here, especially if you’re a sports fanatic! Attend a varsity game or get involved in an intramural sport, if that’s your thing. Students promise that you’ll have fun, no matter what you choose.

Just because sports are widely popular at Auburn, don’t think that there isn’t anything else for you to get involved in. If sports are not your thing, then there are plenty of other activities and organizations to be a part of. However, part of your tuition will go towards funding the sports on campus, so if that is not a main attraction to you, then you might want to reconsider.

WAR EAGLE With Auburn University

Auburn University is definately well known for its sports programs, primarily football. We are part of the SEC and have won multiple national championships as well as having multiple Heismann winners. The fans are the best I've ever known and the entire city goes crazy on game day.

Win, Lose, Tie Auburn Til I Die

I love the fan support of the Auburn Tigers. When we say the Auburn Family, we really mean it. Whether we win lose or tie in any sport we are always super supportive of our teams.

Our Athletics Could Use Some Improvement

Our athletics could use some improvement. Maybe more money for scholarships to offer to better players. Although honestly I can see that we are trying...I can say that our teams don't give up....we are persistent

School Spirit

Overwhelming! School spirit thrives in Auburn, especially during the football season. The town transforms into almost a metropolis during home games. You can even hear the roar of the crowd in the stadium from several miles away. Don’t try to drive downtown on a home game day; you’ll be taken over by a sea of orange and blue tailgaters and game-day attendees.

Getting Tickets

Football tickets are more difficult to get for underclassmen, but tickets to most games can be bought or sold outside of the university program, though prices may be higher. All other sports tickets are easy to get.

Best Place to Take a Walk

The Arboretum, the Quad, downtown Auburn, Chewalkla State Park

Did You Know?

Auburn swimming is usually top in the nation. At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Auburn swimmers earned 16 medals!
