College Prowler Take
Auburn is football, as some people say down here. Students rave about the high energy and school spirit that is displayed on game days. You don’t have to worry about getting bored around here, especially if you’re a sports fanatic! Attend a varsity game or get involved in an intramural sport, if that’s your thing. Students promise that you’ll have fun, no matter what you choose. Just because sports are widely popular at Auburn, don’t think that there isn’t anything else for you to get involved in. If sports are not your thing, then there are plenty of other activities and organizations to be a part of. However, part of your tuition will go towards funding the sports on campus, so if that is not a main attraction to you, then you might want to reconsider.

Varsity sports are always fun. Football is huge here since it's an SEC school. Everyone loves the spirit and tailgaiting atmosphere of game day. Intramural sports are also really popular and are a great opportunity for everyone to get involved.

Football is huge! A day or two before the game, people start setting up to tailgate. Intramural sports are fun. They have different leagues so anyone can play.

Varsity sports are definitely a big deal. Here in the South, we don't mess around when it comes to our college football. We love to support all our teams, even when the season isn't going so great. We also have quite a few intramural sports. Some are more popular than others, but they're a lot of fun. I've gotten the chance to meet some amazing people by participating in intramurals.

Sports are a part of the Auburn experience. Unlike other universities, sports of all levels are supported by the student body and surrounding area. The campus becomes packed for football games, closely followed by basketball, and new favorites like gymnastics are a wintry Friday night alternative to hanging out with friends outdoors. Auburn University and the students really support all aspects of students interests.

Gyms and Facilities
- Beard-Eaves Coliseum - The Coliseum is a tall round building where basketball games are held. Students can often be found running laps inside of this building. You will also find many people running up and down the many sets of stairs to get in shape. Since Auburn’s track and weight rooms are often in use, the Coliseum is a quiet place to get in shape on your own. The building also hosts other events, such as the high school graduation.
- Jordan-Hare Stadium - Jordan-Hare is probably the grandest of all the facilities. This large stadium seats over 85,000 people and is packed during every home football game. Jordan-Hare recently underwent some renovation to update the look and ensure security to the facility.
- Plainsman Park - Plainsman Park is the new baseball stadium on campus. The beautiful park hosted a visit from President George W. Bush during his first term.
- The Student Activities Center - The Student Act Center offers weight rooms, a basketball court, and aerobic equipment for students to use throughout the year. It also has a large room where concerts and other events are held. The weight rooms are free to use, but always busy, so it is often futile to try to work out there.
- Under Construction: New Coliseum - New Coliseum to host Auburn basketball as well as a new state-of-the-art recreation center
