Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Auburn University knows what it has to do to make the campus a pleasant place for students and faculty to attend. The campus is under constant revision. While that often means that a lot of construction is going on, students feel that it’s worth it.

Most students rave about the facilities on campus, especially the athletic facilities. Some may feel that too much attention is being focused on the athletic facilities in Auburn. Auburn University is definitely dedicated to its varsity sports, so that is something to keep in mind. However, work is also being done to update a lot of the older, run-down buildings on campus so that the students can have a better place to learn.

Really Great

The facilities at Auburn are really nice. The arena, football stadium, student center, and library are always kept immaculate. The campus is very clean as well. It's simple to get around and find these areas and they are all aesthetically pleasing so you'll want to go there.

Auburn's facilities are actually pretty neat, they have top of the line food choices, places to relax in between campus, & the library is a great place to study. They are constantly updating and renovating areas of campus to improve student life. We have our own state of the art museum, eight basketball courts, and about 4-6 pools in our new fitness center.

Favorite Things To Do

Auburn is very laid-back and students can usually be seen hanging out with friends or studying around campus. There is always a campus event going on—whether it’s a sports game or something put on by one of various campus organizations. Students also frequent the game room in the New Student Center, the Quad to play Frisbee or flag football, and the Intramural Fields or Student Act to work out.

Go to a sporting event—Football is huge at Auburn, and every weekend during fall semester focuses on Saturdays in Jordan-Hare Stadium. Auburn students are known for their spirit and support of athletics. Baseball and basketball are also very popular. See a play—Auburn has an excellent theatre program. A variety of plays and musicals are presented throughout fall and spring semesters, and prices are usually discounted for students. Performances are held at the Telfair-Peet Theatre, which is located across from the Hill Dormitories. Work Out—Auburn students are a fit bunch! The Student Activities Center boasts various weight and cardio rooms, basketball and volleyball courts, an aquatics center, and exercise rooms to take classes such as yoga and Pilates. Auburn is also a beautiful campus to run or jog through. A new state-of-the-art recreation center is under construction and will be available for student use during the 2011-2012 school year. Enjoy the weather—Auburn students frequently take advantage of the nice Alabama weather. Fancy a little competitiveness? Play some Frisbee in the Quad or a pick-up soccer game on the Intramural Fields. Want to relax? Take a walk in the Arboretum or down to Toomer’s Corner for some famous lemonade.
