Students agree that they feel very safe at Auburn, especially on campus. Like any other town, Auburn has its bouts of crime, but students advise that if you take the necessary precautions, your time at Auburn will be a safe and enjoyable one.
Because of Auburn's friendly atmosphere, it may be easy to take safety for granted. While Auburn is an overall friendly and safe town, you still shouldn't let your guard down, especially when out late at night. Some students take the transit system if they are traveling at night; others call on the police escort service if they feel uncomfortable in a certain situation. The city of Auburn, as well as the University, does their best to make sure the citizens and students in Auburn feel well protected and at ease in this town.
