One of the worst aspects of going to college at Auburn is the parking situation. There has been an uphill battle going on between the students and administration for years about the lack of parking on campus. The administration has been working to improve the Transit system to make it faster and more convenient for students to ride. If you live on campus, then you can always walk or bike to class.

In years to come, Auburn will eventually be turned into a walking campus. As for right now, if you choose to drive to class, then just make sure you leave in plenty of time. Professors rarely excuse tardiness just because you couldn’t find a parking space.

Parking Stinks

For students who live on campus we have to park our car in such a far away lot we have to take a bus to get there. It's awful.

THE AUBURN POLICE DEPARTMENT BOTH ON AND OFF CAMPUS ARE CRAZY ABOUT GIVING TICKETS!! If you park in the wrong zone/spot even for 30 seconds during restricted hours your car will either have a ticket on the windshield, a boot on the tire, or be the newest member of the Auburn Impound Lot. Likewise, if you run a yellow light, cut off pedestrians, or speed at any rate, you will have a ticket faster than you can blink. Moral of this story: Do exactly as you are supposed to do when driving.

Horrible, Enough Said

Parking is a nightmare. Good luck getting a spot after 8am. Off-campus parking is extortionate and not even convenient.

Getting a Parking Permit

Students who want to park on campus must first register their car with the University Police Department. They are then able to obtain a C-zone or R-zone parking tag (the only tags available to undergrads) for about $30.
