Students agree that they feel very safe at Auburn, especially on campus. Like any other town, Auburn has its bouts of crime, but students advise that if you take the necessary precautions, your time at Auburn will be a safe and enjoyable one. Because of Auburn’s friendly atmosphere, it may be
easy to take safety for granted. While Auburn is an
overall friendly and safe town, you still shouldn’t let your guard down, especially when out late at night. Some students take the transit system if they are traveling at night; others call on the police escort service if they feel uncomfortable in a certain situation. The city of Auburn, as well as the University, does their best to make sure the citizens and students in Auburn feel well protected and at ease in this town. Students Speak Out

There is always a lot of security...
There is always a lot of security around campus. The campus police are always around if you feel unsafe. At night, we have the Security Shuttle, which will pick you up from wherever you are and take you to your destination. There are hardly ever any known crimes on campus or around the town.

Auburn is a safe campus, but like any town, it has had its fair share of rapes. The basic thing to remember in any college atmosphere (and in general) is to have a good head on your shoulders and be wise to the situation you are in. Auburn has a personal escort service and police that patrol the campus. |

The security and safety are good...
The security and safety are good on campus. They have the Tiger Transit, which runs at night to and from the parking lot to the dorms. And if you are walking by yourself, there are several safety stations, which have a phone and will make noises and flash lights if you press the emergency button. You can also have a campus police escort. |
