A good variety and a lot of people participate in them.

It's Minnesota, so there really isn't that nice of weather.
College Senior 2013-11-02T20:44:46Z
The locals are almost entirely Somali, so I don't see a great deal of kindness from the locals. There are alot of restaurants and the Mall of America isn't too far. Plus, the school is close to downtown, so a lot of stuff is close like football games or concerts.
College Senior 2013-11-02T20:43:09Z
I've never seen drunk students around or any drug use so I'm not sure this is an apparent problem.
College Senior 2013-11-02T20:42:30Z
The school is nice but I transferred from a nicer school so I have a biased opinion on how it could be.
College Senior 2013-11-02T20:41:36Z
There are a lot of different ethnicities in this area, although Somalians predominate. A lot of metrosexual guys too so I guess it's pretty diverse around here.

I love my program and the people I've met, and I would go back again if I could. The financial aid department at Augsburg sucks, but the cool faculty make up for the areas this school is lacking.

Health & Safety:
The campus safety guys are really great, it's just that the overall neighborhood is not safe if you're alone or at night. A lot of crime happens in this area, but that's to be expected so close to downtown in a large city.
College Senior 2013-11-02T20:38:38Z
The PA program is the best! I have learned so much and the faculty are really cool.
College Senior 2013-11-02T20:38:38Z
Speaking from the PA program courses I've taken, I can say the academics are pretty outstanding. I'm not sure about the other classes and programs though.
College Senior 2013-11-02T20:37:25Z
The security guys are very helpful when you're out at night and need a ride somewhere, and were very nice when helping me after my bike was stolen.

Guys & Girls:
People look like every other 20-something around the cities.
College Senior 2013-11-02T20:35:19Z
A lot of ethnic cuisine close to school, whether it's Afro-deli or Himalayan or Thai, there is a lot to choose from.
College Senior 2013-11-02T20:34:12Z
You can either live in a ghetto apartment for cheap or a slightly less ghetto one and pay $940/month for a single bedroom if you want to live close to college but off-campus.

The drug scene varies with the crowd you hang around with. I never saw any "hard-core" drugs. There is alcohol around though.

I love being a music therapy major. However, it requires a lot of effort, time, energy, etc. It is one of the heavy majors offered, greater even than pre-med. So it is a lot of work. The job opportunities are becoming more and more popular, and my professor has said that the internship opportunities are usually easy for students to receive.
College Freshman 2013-10-21T19:37:46Z
It does an "ok" job of spreading the "wealth"
College Freshman 2013-10-21T19:36:19Z
I do not even know if there are Greek housing available on campus.
College Junior 2013-10-21T15:05:16Z
Parking on campus is hectic. Parking fills up quickly even if you have a campus permit. Even if you are a resident, the parking lots are quite small and inconvenient where walking is quite a ways out. This makes the permit price less worth it because it does not gaurantee a spot.
College Junior 2013-10-21T14:56:34Z
I am a Physics major at Augsburg College. The Physics Department is smaller compare to others but this is not a flaw. Getting to know the professors is a lot easier and more convenient. They have amazing connections with the outside world whether it is interships, jobs, or use of facilities.
College Junior 2013-10-21T14:40:18Z
Augsburg College is a small private college. The class size is also small making it easier to connect with professors whether it is through email, appointments, or passing by; the professors will get to know you. Not only will the professors get to know you but the students as well. Forming small groups for study sessions and collaborating your ideas is extremely helpful.

Lots of public transport whether it's buses or taxis or the metro.
College Senior 2013-10-14T23:59:42Z
Close to downtown Minneapolis so lots to do if you're of age.
College Senior 2013-10-10T15:03:18Z
With the small size of the campus, weather does not affect the campus experience much. If you live off campus, this may be an issue to do transportation and morning/evening traffic. However, all in all, weather is not much of an issue.

A lot of the buildings are somewhat outdated. There has been the promise of a new science building that is currently being held up by a lack of funding. Once this project is underway, though, I am sure it will draw in students from all around as it will be a new state of the art building.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
