Drink and Party – Friday and Saturday nights are crazy nights here at Augsburg (at least for the Freshman class). Lots of drinking and partying, and smoking is big too on campus.

New and Nice – The buildings on campus are very nice and many of them are new. During the winter our artificial turf stadium is covered by a dome which helps bring in extra money to the school. The work out gyms are also top notch.

Found the Love of My Life – I have loved attending Augsburg. I've made a few close friends, joined a club sport (Ultimate Frisbee), got welcomed but the LGBTQIA community (I am bisexual) and have had a lot of fun. But most of all I found the love of my life and my future wife. We spend lots of time together and I couldn't be happier.

No Greek – There is no greek life, but there is the option of joining one at the U of M if they allow non-students.

Not to Shabby – The athletics at Augsburg College are where you would expect a small Division III campus. Mediocre. With one of the best wrestling programs in D3 in the country (11-Time National Champs) a Men's soccer team that always is competitive and a football team that was off to a roaring start, things aren't bleak in this department.

There isn't a lot of off campus housing in the area and most students choose to live on campus all four years. There are, however, relatively decent priced studio apartments if you can find a roommate.

All in All, Pretty Great – Augsburg has a nice range of majors and minors and many great professors who are willing to work one on one with students to help them succeed. There are a few teachers who make the experience a bit strained, but there will be on any campus.

Augsburg College is an extremely liberal and progressive campus. Known for its acceptance of the LGBTIA community as well as the immigrants that live near Augsburg, the school is a very welcoming and diverse place.

Not a Party School, but Not My Scene – In my experience, there is quite a bit of drinking and smoking (Cigarettes and Pot). Every weekend someone on every floor stumbles back drunk or high.

Health & Safety:
Very Safe – Campus security is very good. I have always felt safe at Augsburg. The Department of Public Safety will give you rides to and from the light rail station or Smiley's Clinic for free so you don't have to walk in the city at night. All of the dorm buildings are only accessible by a fob. Walking around just outside of campus, however, can feel a bit unsafe. I have not had any bad experiences, but we are told to only walk at night in big groups.

Big City, Small Town Charm – Augsburg has the small town charm of a private school but the location is great. The light rail is only a few blocks away that can get students to the Mall of America or the Target center and anything in between.

Parking on campus is very limited. There is only one small visitor parking lot which is somewhat far from classes and many residence halls.

Living on campus will make it easier for students to get involved with the Augsburg community, work on campus, and attend classes. However, the cost to live on campus is expensive and I would recommend living in an apartment near augsburg college instead if possible.

Good 'Ol MN Winter – BURR! MN is awesome in the summer, but come fall/winter it gets a little crazy. Fortunately for Augsburg students all buildings (excluding the gym) are accessible through tunnels and sky ways.

Quaint Little Campus – Augsburg has a teeny tiny campus it takes no longer than 5 minutes to walk anywhere on campus. Public transportation is awesome, I personally love taking the light rail!

Guys & Girls:
Augsburg College is full of ethnic diversity. The students come from a variety of backgrounds. Coming from a small school in the suburbs it was fun to get to know people from different parts of Minnesota. A majority of the guys and girls are the typical blonde haired blue eyed Minnesotan!

Honors, Youth and Family Ministries, and Psychology – I love all the programs I am in. My professors from honors and youth and family ministries are all willing to help me succeed and are willing to help me through any difficulties that I may have in my life. They are really caring people. Honors definitely makes you think a lot more and dive into what you are studying. Youth and Family Ministries is really good about having you understand what you are getting into when you enter this major. I haven't been too involved with Psychology yet.

My mom helped me fill out the FASFA form and I looked for and applied to a lot of scholarships my first year. The financial department at Augsburg is very willing to help you in any way they can. My tips would be just keep applying and looking for scholarships because you never know, you may be the lucky winner.

No Affect – I am not someone who is affected by the weather so to me, it doesn't affect my campus experience in any drastic way. It may help or hinder sometimes how I get to class but nothing major.
College Senior 2011-11-16T02:40:29Z
Mostly Uneventful – The campus is small so it is pretty easy to get around, even when there is unwelcome weather. In the winter is does snow a lot and sometimes students who live off campus cannot make it to classes so they either take public transportation or alert their professors that they cannot make it. That usually only happens during or after a severe snow storm. The dorms are near most buildings where classes are held, so walking isn't a problem no matter the type of weather. Classes are rarely canceled or delayed when there is severe weather, but when the weather is enjoyable, many students spend time outdoors.
College Senior 2011-11-16T02:36:08Z
Lenient and Friendly – Most faculty and staff on campus are not strict, but if you have been known to get into trouble in the past, the more likely you are to be monitored. If you get caught underage drinking, the first time your punishment is not severe; everyone would rather know that you are safe rather than punish you for being honest. As far as academics, professors would rather help you actually learn the material and excel than focus on just grades. If you are doing poorly in a class however, the professor of that class is responsible to send out an academic alert to let your other instructors know that you may need to spend more time focusing on your school work.

Health & Safety:
Safe and Comfortable – The crime rate on campus is comfortably low and students feel safe here. The school's department of public safety is very helpful if anyone has concerns about safety and is always available. One thing you want to make sure to do is to lock your doors. There have been burglaries in the past, but locking your doors decreases the risk of this happening. Students, faculty, and staff on campus are extremely friendly and helpful if there is ever a concern about safety, so it is easy to get help if you do have concerns.

Library and Campus Activities – you have access to many different libraries and are able to get books very fast. There a lot of activities going on every other day, and also weekends

Nabo Has Great Food! I really enjoy the food at Nabo. It has many choices and usually something appeals to me before I even get there!
