Mainly Fastfood Near by. There are some good places to eat in downtown Moline or in Davenport but you have to drive to get there. Everything close is mainly fast food so it is cheap and easy to get to. I would suggest HyVee on Monday's for their all you can eat Chinese. Most local restaurants have Augie discounts if you show your ID.

It is very frustrating to be a Science Major when you need to use a computer or print something off for a class. The lab is extremely small for the amount of students in the building and about 25% of the computers do not work. Also, the printer often stops working and there is only one. Very frustrating when you only have 15 minutes between classes to print something or check your email.

The local weather doesn't affect the campus experience at all, besides for the changing beautification of the campus as the seasons progress. The campus is smaller so snow or rain does not affect travel to class and the groundskeepers are very prompt in clearing the paths of snow.

To park in one of the designated lots, one must have a parking permit for that specific lot. These permits cost 250 dollars for the entire year. The need for a car on campus isn't very high, however. One can walk to anywhere on campus and the local stores and restaurants are in walking distance as well.

Strict Schedules and Hard Work – As a Biology major, your academic schedule is very pre-planned and offers little room for other classes. This is due to the high amount of credits necessary to achieve this degree. This thus calls for a rigorous work ethic if one wants to succeed in this major. Furthermore, the facilities that are used are of the highest caliber. Clean, hi-tech, and loaded with the most intelligent professors, the science building at Augustana is incomparable. The amount of internships and job opportunities that the professors make ready available are vast.

Not Bad. ITS is useless, but there are always computers available in one building or another, there is no wifi in the res halls, but if you get a long ethernet cable it's not that bad.

Although I have recieved money it still is never enough and they raise their prices 3.75% every year. They should stop competing with other schools lower your "Prestigious" prices!

Weed Weed Bye Bye! A lot of students choose to smoke weed, sometimes you can even smell it in certain places sometimes just walking outside the front of your resident building. Not my choice, theirs that's fine by me.

Health & Safety:
Well as the incoming '11-'12 year begins we no longer have night desk security which means students at Augustana will be taking advantage of the students now forced to work the desk. This is a terrible decision but besides that it's just like any other college campus. A campus inside a town and the town has strange folks just like any other town.

Being from Illinois, I am used to the weather being like it is. Winter is a little bit harsh, which leads to missed classes (on students end, or teacher cancels). Overall, weather in Quad Cities is just like anywhere else in the Midwest.

The facilities and overall atmosphere of the campus is a huge selling point for the school. First of all, the campus is beautiful. It is really is one of the nicest campuses I had visted when I was looking at colleges. Most of the main buildings are new within the past twenty years, so those areas are great to have classrooms in and do homework.

Rock Island/Quad Cities – The area surrounding Augustana has a lot of potential for students. Unfortunately a lot of the attractions require transportation to, so unless you know someone with a car, you're out of luck. There are parks close to campus, coffee shops, pizza places, movie theaters...you name it, the Quad Cities has it.

The Greek life at Augie isn't great most of the time they can have member that get intoxicated really early during the day and try to start fights during the night. I have personally tried to stay away from all of the greek life but there are still people that can and do make visiting other greek houses.

There is always something to do at Auguie from going to the district or going out to see what the frats or sororities are having at there houses. The school also provides a lot of of fun activities to do that do not disappoint.

TLA's are a great idea but are very over priced,I am currently a Sophomore that transfered and really enjoy living in the house i was assigned but when looking at my bill it really hurts.

Overall Enjoyable Experience – The school has a very liberal atmosphere, the classes are challenging enough, and the teachers are very available and supportive.
College Senior 2011-03-28T02:37:59Z
They offer free bus passes to all college students and a free driving services called AGES for students on campus.

Smart Choices – A few students get drinking tickets now and then, but I haven't seen a huge problem with it. Our dorm desk attendants are pretty lenient and only get in your face if your really obnoxious about it. Just be smart about it and try and avoid parties that look like they are going to get busted.

Go Augie Go! Augie has many sports available, but we are not a division one school. Our basketball team is amazing and is doing very well this season, but that is about the only really great sport.
College Senior 2011-03-12T20:09:39Z
Dorms Like the Norms – Augustana College has pretty average dorms. I am in the nicer ones with air conditioning, but most of them are older and just normal.

The biggest thing is that Augie is on the trimester schedule. I love it and would hate to see it change.

Mostly White – 95% of students it seems are white. It is obvious it is a mostly white campus.
College Senior 2011-02-22T00:28:31Z
Limited lots and mostly parallel parking along streets.
College Senior 2011-02-22T00:25:42Z
Mostly Fast Food – Most food places within walking distance are just fast food. If you don't have a car make sure you have money for delivery, or you make it to the restaurant before the lobby closes. If you don't have a car you a very limited.
College Senior 2011-02-22T00:22:28Z
Decent Food – The points system Augustana uses leaves many students out of points in the last few weeks of the term. The food is decent but there is not much variety. The C-stores and Brew are good.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
