Again, something very value-based. This school has a large, affluent Greek life that is the dominant party and to a degree social scene. If this is what you are looking for, then this is a wonderful situation, but if it isn't, then it is not exactly pleasant.

it definitely divides students and creates cliques but many people feel pressured to join

Greek life is the main way into parties but they do more than just that. They partake in planning campus wide activities for students to do on weekends as well as fundraisers to help with local charities. If you are not part of Greek life, that is okay because you can still enjoy what they do, while doing what you choose to do with your social life.

Greek life is pretty active on campus, and members of Greek groups tend to have a strong presence at the school. They do a TON of service, and host a lot of events for the entire school to partake in. There are also a lot of Greek-hosted parties throughout the year (except during pledging season in the Spring). Even with a big Greek life, though, it's not a huge deal to choose to opt out of joining a group, especially with so many other clubs to join on campus.
