Not bad at all. There are computer labs in each building and they are ALWAYS available.

Some facilities are updated whereas most of them are old and run down. The freshman dorms are old with few updates, but the sophomore dorms have both recently been refurnished. Every other building is decent, but not great. Overall the facilities are decent.

Augustana is a small school which allows for you to get to know many people on a more personable level. This include the professors. Due to the fact that class sizes are small, you get more attention from your professors and they genuinely care about you as a person. Rather than having one professor to 500 students in a lab lecture that a typical college may have, the professor to student ratio is closer to 50 to 1.

Guys & Girls:
My school has a great social life with a wide variety of gender, ethnicity, religion, interests, and looks. Augustana is more than just a college, it is a community that welcomes all people. Everyone here is very friendly and approachable including the staff and faculty. I couldn't be more happy that I chose Augustana College.

There are both positives and negatives to my college's on campus housing. The dorm life is amazing in the fact that it is a great social aspect and community builder. However, it is also difficult to live in such a small space with a roommate and floormates, and they are not always very cleanly. Every student is required to live on campus for the first three years of school or they will lose partial scholarship. This is inconvenient, because it is far more costly to live on campus than it is to live off campus. Part of me loved living on campus and having a social atmosphere with friendly people around, but by the time my junior year of college came around I was ready to move out.

I enjoy the food here. It's something different every day, and there are several options, such as a station at which you can get Asian food, a station to get home-cooked food, a mini grill, a "deli" where you can get wraps and sandwiches, as well as a salad bar. If you want food after the dining hall closes, there is a grill where you can get a transfer meal that serves burgers, chicken patties, grilled cheese sandwiches, and chicken nuggets with a drink and fries.

It's a lot colder here than it was at home, because of the wind. It will be an adjustment, and I definitely will need some warmer clothes. But it does not yet hinder classes.

I love living on campus. It takes less than five minutes to get to my classes, everyone on my floor is friendly and I know most of the people by name. There are, of course some times when I wish we had more floor activities so I could get to know some of the people better, but so far it's a welcoming environment.

I am only in my first semester, but so far everything is just as I thought it would be. The professors are excellent, the courses I can take are varying, and I know the professors actually care about their students and what happens to them. They see themselves as here to help more than anything else. I have made incredible friends that I will treasure for many years to come and who don't necessarily come from the same walk of life as me.

The school encourages students to explore and allow what makes you different show, rather than be repressed. They encourage students to travel internationally as well as welcome international students to come and study on campus.

A lot of restaurants to choose from. There is a main strip that has several options including fast food and sit down. Some are chain like Taco John's and Wendy's, and then there are others that are not and offer an ethnic cuisine. I have not yet been to them, but there is an Indian restaurant as well as a Mediterranean restaurant.

There are underage drinkers, but they are a fairly small group. I have never been pressured to drink in order to feel like I belong. I don't think anyone does drugs, but I am not sure.
College Freshman 2013-11-04T21:32:55Z
I haven't had to deal with any issues when it comes to drugs and alcohol. We are supposed to be a dry campus, and officers will bust parties if they find out about them. They are very conscious of the fact that even though it is a dry campus, it doesn't stop students. We also have a very quiet campus where I am located, so there are no noise issues that I know of.
College Freshman 2013-11-04T21:28:05Z
Access to WiFi is convenient, and the dorms have a small lab with a few computers and a printer. Each month we are allowed plenty of paper for printing, and it is easy to set up. If you have difficulties, it is easy to get to tech support and find someone competent- for both Mac and PC

Health & Safety:
I have very few doubts that I am safe here. I prefer to be with at least one other person, but that is usually only when I am not walking around on the main campus.
College Freshman 2013-11-04T21:22:52Z
I personally do not participate in athletics, but many people here- professors included enjoy them.
College Sophomore 2013-08-29T23:02:35Z
Overall a successful and relatively hassle-free experience. There have been a few bumps in the road, but nothing too problematic.
College Sophomore 2013-08-29T22:58:42Z
Augustana has a small campus so travel from class to class isn't that much of a problem. It's when a person has to travel off-campus that it becomes complicated. The buses around the area are not the most efficient or reliable. However, when off-campus transportation is needed one can usually find a friend willing to be a mode of transportation.
College Junior 2013-08-23T00:00:36Z
I had no issues when I transfered to Augustana. All I had to do was complete one more course, and if i passed i was in the nursing program. pretty easy if you ask me.
College Junior 2013-08-22T23:58:36Z
The staff are really friendly and when you stop in and ask a teacher something, they take the time to talk to you. I felt very welcomed and could feel a community atmosphere

Nursing, Biology, and Business are probably the top three majors. In my opinion. The professors are great! Never heard of not helpful professor at Augie! Freshmen registration for second semester can be pain in the butt, though.
College Sophomore 2013-08-13T05:01:04Z
Augie's WiFi is amazing. And also, you don't need to carry your laptop around because there are computers in every academic building. Printing is also easy, however you can only print in color at the library for 25 cents per paper.
College Sophomore 2013-08-13T04:58:50Z
Teachers know a lot about their field, above average! And they help every student.
College Sophomore 2013-08-01T00:26:32Z
There is a good variety in housing, but that also includes quality and prices. All are near campus and you can select who you live with and there is good security with good locks and cameras monitoring some of the entrances. Quite a few can use some renovations.
College Sophomore 2013-08-01T00:17:30Z
Guys & Girls:
The people are friendly, welcoming, and accepting. They make you feel right at home, but some people can get way too rowdy with all the parties they are going and coming back from.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
