Well, I spend most of my time in the fine arts departments so the students I spend most of my time with do openly support gay/lesbian students. I haven't seen or heard any blatant opposition from anyone else, though, so I believe Augustana is mostly in support of gay/lesbian students.
In general I think Augie seems to accept and tolerate gay/lesbian students. We have a group on campus that does a lot to show support. The LBGT group also hosts one or two drag shows each year at Augie.
Augustana is very accepting of gay and lesbian students. There are gay-straight alliances on campus and the organization hosts meetings bringing everyone together. The overall atmosphere is very accepting and welcoming of people all sexual orientations.
From my experience so far I would say that ignorant or disrespectful comments and actions are not even so much as tolerated at Augustana.
Everyone is very excepting. No one is going to judge you of who you are.
We are very very very inclusive of everyone here at Augie. We have drag shows all the time and they are a huge hit!
