While other schools might charge students hundreds of dollars to park two miles from campus, AC students can park for free and still only be a five-minute walk from everything. All a student has to do is fill out a form with campus police and put a sticker on his windshield, and parking is permitted in any lot around the perimeter of school. Every parking spot is convenient, but since there are no roads or lots in the middle of campus, expect to make a short trek. As long as it's not Parents' Weekend, there are sure to be enough spaces to go around, even if it's not your first pick in location. There are also unloading zones near the dorms for convenience when students have heavy loads to carry inside.
Campus police is very anal about students leaving their cars in visitor or 30-minute parking spots—a parking ticket is to be expected as soon as 31 minutes rolls around. But as long as you follow the rules, parking really is the thing AC students worry about least. Parking along Grand, next to Clyce Hall, is convenient to Clyce but is not well lit at all during the night. This is where the few incidents of petty theft from vehicles usually happen.
