It's a really nice college, but food is expensive on campus and there is only fast food around. There are not many choices, and the nightlife is non-existent for some one like myself. There is no good health food stores (like Trader Joes or Whole Foods), but the actual scenery is nice- green grass, brick buildings, and down the road a riverfront. I would like to see more grocery stores, higher quality restaurants and more student friendly coffee shops.

The Foy Fitness Center is perhaps my favorite place to go. Nt only can you get a great work-out in but you can also take time to engage in hobbies that you ejoy.

It's a small learning community which is great especially if you are the type of student who would liketo seek help from your teacher.

They have one of the top nursing programs, which is what i'm trying to get in to.

If you have class between 9-12 expect to park way behind campus and walk or use the trolly. But you have to go register and get a card to use the trolly.

They have many options but not the best healthy choices or small portion options. If you dont have a meal plan, you are significantly over charged.

I am in the pre-health curriculum and there are so many sources readily available to get help from. There is a free tutoring center with various hours every week, which is needed when taking some of the sciences courses like Anatomy and Physiology. There is a whole bulletin board in one of the buildings with internship opportunities with pull and rip contact info to each one. The advisers are awesome and really help you to stay on track and get finished in a timely manner. Professors in this program are overly helpful as well, and very friendly.

I have only once smelled marijauna on campus, and have never seen anyone acting high or drunk. I have not seen anyone using any other drugs, and it is not talked about either. There is some drinking, but nothing too crazy, and not by underage students.

Because of our awesome SGA, we have a free bus pass to any city buses in town. Along with that, we have trollies that circle the campus every 5-10 minutes, or so, and those are free as well. So if driving a car isn't your 'thing', do not worry, APSU has your back.

The parking is terrible if you show up after about 10:30 or before 2. The amount or spaces available is usually reduced to 0. If you find yourself having to find a spot during these times, be aware you might just have to follow someone to their parking spot. Most of us will be pretty cool about it and tell you exactly were.

Let's see there is stuff to do, however, if you are from a major city like Chicago or New York you may feel like you are in the country. But there is a mall a couple of clubs, parks and eating joints around Clarksville. If you really want to have a nice time you will need to go to Nashville which is about 45 mins to an hour from the school. I believe there are shuttle bus that will take you into Nashville. And there is a lot more to do downtown Nashville than in Clarksville, more malls like Rivergate, Cool Springs etc. Eating joints like Cheddars, Dave and Busters, etc.

You can use the library at anytime day or night you Student ID will get you in. You have internet access and free wifi so bring you labtops or notebooks. Internet speed is excellent signals are great inside the library. The library also has printing service. There are computer labs but they are open doing normal campus hours.

The weather is pretty good year round. Occasionally we great some snow there are a lot of hills so classes were canceled because of ice. There was a bad rain storm that caused a flood by the River, but Clarksville has recovered since that. All and all the weather is great! No need for a lot of heavy winter clothes but you will need an umbrella.

I enjoy going to a place called Black Horse. They have great spinach dip and pizza not to far from campus. You will need to have a car though the prices are reasonable, you can park a parking garage not too far from the place you do have to pay. Sometime there is parking in the front which is on a meter so bring quarters. There a lot of fast food joint off of River Walk the is about 2 miles for the campus so you can get Taco Bell, McD's, Arby's, etc. I also like this Chicago Hot dog stand now this about 5-8 miles from the school and you will need a car to get to this joint a little prices but great hot dogs!

There is enough parking the campus is growing so the school is building a lot more parking spots and campus housing. The campus is not to big great for non traditional students, like myself, returning to college. Permits are required for parking.

Austin Peay has a beautiful campus with lots of trees and green spaces; it is absolutely gorgeous in the fall. We have a really nice gym and pool, and several places to eat on campus, including Einstein's Bros. Bagels, Subway, and Starbucks. AP is very socially oriented; there are activities held for students practically every day, often offering free food and apparel. I've lost count of how many free t-shirts I've gotten just for attending something at the Plaza outside of the university center.

I live at University Landing Apartments, which is right off campus. I can walk to my classes, which is awesome. UL also has study rooms, a pool, a 24hr gym, and all utilities included. It's really great as a first apartment. Other than UL, there are some nice apartment choices, as long as you're willing to look.

I only lived on campus for my freshman year, and it wasn't bad. I lived in the new dorms, Castle Heights, and only had to share a bathroom with one person. That was nice. There was a little convenience store downstairs in my building, which was...convenient. Living on campus also allowed for a decent social scene. You always know what's going on and when.

Guys & Girls:
Austin Peay holds a diverse collection of students. We have jocks, band kids, hipsters, preps, rednecks, tech savvies, and those to whom you cannot apply a label. When it comes to hotness, it depends on your taste. Some would say we have a lot of attractive men and women, while others would disagree. An average amount of partying goes on at AP, but I would say that most are focused more on studies than social life.

Off-campus housing for APSU students are pretty easy to find, but they are a little expensive to me. They are conveniently located near the school so that if you don't have a car students can walk with no problems. I am unsure about the parking, but I would hope that all residents could park where they live. However, there aren't enough housing available per student on this campus.

As a psychology major, I hope to graduate from my current university and continue on to graduate school possibly at Emory University. From there, I would like to one day have the opportunity to open up my own clinic and work with young children and teenagers. I am very happy with the decisions that I have made for my education, and I am currently experiencing the best at APSU.

I did not receive any financial aid other than offers for student loans. I thought I would at least receive some kind of assistance since I am a single mother and my expected family contribution was zero.

White/African American – APSU is predominately African American and Caucasian, but there are a diverse amount of people. Everyone seems to be accepting of all types of diversity. The teachers are also very diverse. (Ive had teachers who are blind, i=Indian, american, etc.) As for sexuality APSU doesn't discriminate against you as a whole (of course you get the occasional person who does discriminate).
Sorry, there are no reviews.
