Free Buses! The school gives you bus cards for free transportation around the city. There are different modes of transportation but the bus is definitely the best for those without cars - there is plenty of parking but everything is spread out in Clarksville!

Rude and Unhelpful – At 17 the head of financial aid told me to get pregnant or married was the only way to afford to go to college. They misplaced my paperwork 4 times and were very unhelpful while trying to deal with different processes. They gave us incorrect information costing us several thousand dollars and were unwilling to correct their mistakes.

Transportation Dependent – There are tons of restaurants around Clarksville - except they are difficult to get to without reliable transportation (car, bus). However, there are some within walking distance if you really want some fast food.

It Hasn't Been a Hassle – The financial aid office is very helpful. I've never experienced any issues and I always received my financial aid in a decent time.

Sports Are Not Overlooked – The sports department at APSU aren't the main focus, but they are a big part of campus life. Football games are always packed and basketball.

Do Not Commute – The parking is horrible. If you have to come on campus any later than 8am, good luck on finding one.

It's Not Bad – The versatilty at APSU is not horrible. They are really open on everything and lets the student body promote their beliefs in appropiate ways.

The School has sunk money into the technology around campus. We have, i think, ten PC labs and a handful of mac labs. The school allows you to check out laptops from the library for free and allows free printing services. While most people just go to the library to use computers, that gets really full, so its helpful to know where the other labs are located and what times they are available. Even if a teacher is teaching a class in one, most times, they allow you to come in if you need to use the computer, as long as you don't interrupt class.

Leave It to the Greeks – There are a few houses on campus. The pikes got kicked off for drugging girls and their house got torn down. There is a place called greek village which is kinda like dorms, with out the RA's. Everyone is really nice to each other and greek life on campus is really about helping the world and community service. Of course when the sun goes down its a huge party!

Fans Rock, Team Sucks – Out of any college the biggest sport they play is football. Unfortunately for our school, the football team sucks. they have only won a handful of times yet people still seem to come out for every game, throw a great tailgate party, and enjoy the game anyways.

Small Campus, Offers Various Activities – Financial Aid is awful to deal with and make it ten times harder on the student. However, for the most part, the faculty and staff do try to work with students and are overall friendly. The school itself does try to get various famous persons to come to APSU and speak and tries to have different free activites for students to attend such as a movie on the lawn or something like that. Not to mention, the free shirts!

Let It Rain! Tennessee is a nice area to live in but at peak times, the weather isn't as friendly. During the middle of summer, it can make walking to and from campus buildings miserable due to the heat. During the end of fall semester, we have a lot of problems with black ice on the roads. During the spring semester, there is quite a bit of flooding and thunderstorms with tornado warnings that can potentially cause classes to be cancelled. All in all, the school has only cancelled maybe 3 times in the year and a half I've been coming to APSU. I like the fact that it is not only reliable, but realizes that at particular times the safety of students is more important than their everyday attendance in the classroom.

Unless you are a parks and recreation enthusiast, you may not enjoy the surrounding city of Clarksville, TN. I love the simplicity and quietness of the overall community, but some would find the fact that there isn't a very large mall here quite disappointing. There are also few chains here and not enough mom/pop restaurants to hang out. However, there is still something new to do if you have your eyes open and your mind open to the outdoors.

Mud Bowl – Once a year, all the sororities, fraternities, academic clubs, and student community groups make teams and compete in a mud bowl fest! It's so much fun and a whole lot of mud involved!

Always Green – Austin Peay has a lot of wonderful features going for it, but my absolute favorite is the fact that the majority of the campus is very green. There is a green house, lots of greenery around the buildings and crossing from one building to the next. It's amazing how many trees are still on campus even though the campus itself is surrounded by a small concrete blocked city. Austin Peay makes you like studying outside because the surroundings make you feel refreshed and ready to go for that next exam.

Ft. Campbell APSU – I attended Austin Peay on a military base so it was fairly strict, but it wasn't too strict make the atmosphere not enjoyable.

Lots of Variety – The dining hall provides a lot of variety and most of the things I have sampled have been delicious. We also have a wide variety of fast food restaurants available both in the student center and sprinkled around campus for quick meals and snacks.

Great Experience for a Non-Traditional Student – 40% of our enrollment is a non-traditional population from military members to single parents. I've returned after a 33 year break and while the experience was a bit daunting at first, it has become the most rewarding thing I have ever done for myself. I have become acquainted with an amazing group of professors that are encouraging and supportive. I have a cohort of students that accept me despite our age differences and participated in study groups that have been very beneficial for all involved.

Good Computer Availability – Computers are available in all the labs as well as the library including laptop check outs.

Outdoor Fun – We are a small but growing diverse military town. There are numerous lakes, camping grounds, nature parks, caves, fishing spots, and we even have a river walk! We have 5 walmart, a mall, about 3 movie theaters, two bowling alleys, and more! The fun is endless, you just have to open your eyes and get out!

the library just got a wonderful remodel done, there are campus activities happening every day, plenty of sports, in fact our women's basketball team is well known. The school actively encourages us to use these facilities and to participate in the school events. There are "Hang out" spots located all around the campus. The athletic center is absolutely amazing even though it could use some better work out equipment. We have a pool, rock climbing, fitness center, a track, and plenty of fitness programs that are all free or very low cost to the student and their families. We have an art gallery and plenty of computer labs where you can study and do your homework.

The off-campus dining options aren't the best but the school makes up for it by giving you plenty of choices on campus. We have starbucks, subway, and chik-fil-a. That doesn't include all of the school dining facilities we have such as the cafeteria and the food courts.

Health & Safety:
Cops and Lights – There are campus and city police EVERYWHERE. There are also blue lights to call for assistance all over campus.

What? We Have a Team? There is an athletic program at APSU? What? I went to a basketball game ONCE. The gym is tiny, overcrowded.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
