Ave is located in a small community. Most of the professors and their families live in the communities next to the campus.

Off - campus housing is in close proximity to the University. The school does have available units on their secured website.

The dorms are a decent size. There are several buildings. The dorms are not coed. It seems that the boys dorm has the kitchenettes which are not available in the girls dorms. I think they should be reversed.

Health & Safety:
Ave Maria University, is a small college campus located just outside of Naples. I feel very safe here. There is the campus police who travel around the campus. They make an effort to get to know the students. The campus is well lit and there are emergency call poles throughout the campus

Ave has some bi-polar weather sometimes. One day it will be bright and hot and the next it is freezing cold. During the summer it is hot and humid and rains almost everyday. But other than that it is a very bright and warm state.

Since Ave Maria is practically 45 minutes away from Naples there are no buses. One can call a cab but that is a lot of money and the next best thing is the school vans that can be used if you sign up to use one. They are very reliable but have a time limit.

There is never really a drug problem at Ave Maria University. There is a pub but that require ID to be able to drink or smoke. Also there is constant security around campus on the look out for underaged drinking and smoking.

My major is Music. Always has and always will be. I love music and I feel that Ave Maria University has the best music department in Southwest Florida. I hope to start my degree in Music this fall.

The Academics seem to be very good. As a transfer student I was very excited that the academics are up to the level that I expect from a college. I went to another college that I felt their Academics were very poor.

When I spoke with my admissions counselor in June, he said that the weather is very warm in September, still under the spell of the summer humidity. That humidity is also present in May, although to a lesser extreme because of the earlier time of year. But he said that when the calendar flips to October, the humidity snaps and the temperatures cool pretty dramatically. Winter temperatures in the daytime reach, at most, 80 degrees, but drop to the 30s at night. In that regard, it's very much like early to mid-spring, with warm days and chilly nights. He told me it rains almost every day, as well, but usually for only a half-hour to forty-five minutes, and then the sun is back out.

Permits do not cost a lot and the parking is very close to the dorms. The need for a car on campus is minimal as everything is walking/biking distance, but it is good if you need to go to the city on weekends. There is always parking available.

There are many options for activities all around. I am not sure about the options for students 21+ years old, but there are several options for students under 21. Everything is close enough and safe enough to walk or bike to, so transportation is not an issue.

There are only a few restaurants on campus, so in order to get different food, students have to drive elsewhere to find places. The food on campus is god and cheap, however, making it easy for students to find a place.

Diverse people are accepted and people of racial minorities is fairly common. It is difficult to find religious minorities because this is a Catholic University. Most people are Catholic but people in the minority are still accepted.

It's a privet catholic college. Even though it's a small school, the people down there want you to suceed and are so nice. It's a place where you'll be treated like a person and not a number. Plus Ave Maria keeps things small so you get more one on one attention.
College Student 2013-06-04T18:39:02Z
Most of the facilities are very nice and clean. There are places for students to hang out and to pray. I also like how clean and grean looking the campus is.

I here the atheletics are good at Ave Maria. I have not been to any currently but hope to see some hopefully this year.

There is not much off campus dining being that the town of Ave Maria controls who they let in. The dining that's in the town looks good but I have not had the opportunity yet to try on campus dining.

The process of getting into my psychology major was pretty easy. THe school offers a great program for my major, and they really love to the teach the students. Psychology is a great program at Ave Maria.
College Freshman 2013-06-04T01:03:40Z
The computers at Ave Maria University are pretty good. I use my own computer but from what students tell me the computers work good and there speed is also good. The college provides wireless access in every building even in the dorms so students can do their work in their own room.

Ave Maria has a great atmosphere. It is built by the looks of Italy. It has great restaurants and shops. Its campus is in the town Ave maria so it has a lot to do. They have many activities and many sports. They provide gym and pool for the students. There library is open 24 hour so students are able to go use it anytime as they wish. The students attitude is fairly good, everyone respects each other and is very nice.
College Freshman 2013-06-04T00:55:30Z
The public transportation is really good at Ave Maria, they have shuttles and taxis. They also provide us transportation if we want to go out of town into Naples.
College Freshman 2013-06-04T00:53:00Z
The weather doesn't really affect my campus experience. The weather at Ave Maria is actually pretty warm sense its in florida. Although sometimes it catches a lot of rain which can be hard to go from class to class.
College Sophomore 2013-05-23T17:25:15Z
