Located in sunny Florida, Ave Maria University generally experiences fairly good weather for the majority of the year. This means students have year-round access to the beautiful beaches on the Gulf! During the summer, it can be between 80 and 100 degrees with lots of rainfall. As autumn approaches, there's still some rain, but not nearly as often. The temperature at that point also begins to cool and can range between 60 and 80 degrees, give or take, depending on the day. The winter is difficult to predict. In 2009, Florida was hit with a freeze, which was a surprise to most Floridians, while other winters are very mild. The temperatures can be anywhere between 20 to 70 degrees, depending on the year, but on average, it’s between 50 and 80 degrees. Spring here is beautiful; the weather is warm enough to go for a swim but not hot enough to make one feel uncomfortable.
Florida is a peninsula, so there’s a good bit of humidity year-round, though not so much during the winter. Obviously, there is a chance that a hurricane will hit, but there will be plenty of warning, and the University is built to withstand strong hurricanes. All in all, the weather’s beautiful, and it’s hard to ask for anything better!
