Worst Experience EVER!

The past two years have been hell. I am just so relieved it is all over. I can breathe again...

First off, they suck you into signing your contract with false promises, knowing that if you break that contract you will owe them a lot of money! For example, you are allowed to miss only 4 Fridays/Saturdays (depending on your schedule) every day that you miss after those 4 is $50 an hour. So when the school days are 10 hours long, if you miss a 5th Friday/Saturday that is $500 for that one day! As a student you are their little money makers! If you are not there to make them money through services and retail they charge you for it. They've got to make their money somehow! It is ridiculous but you don't look at that because you are so enchanted by all of the bull they are selling you. Make sure you really agree with what you are signing! DO NOT JUST SIGN IT BECAUSE YOU ARE EXCITED TO GET INTO COSMETOLOGY!

The staff members play major favorites! Some students get special treatment while others get left out. It was just an ethical thing that I only witnessed, I was never a victim.

Then they don't even teach you the right curriculum. For sometime every student that attempted the state of Utah practical exam failed! They were not prepared to teach us anything on the test. I don't see how they even accredited. THEY ARE A JOKE. The only reason I passed was because I sought help from a friend at another school. When I asked my school for a list of supplies that went into building the state board kit. They said they didn't have one, but I know for a fact it comes with the one you can rent from them. I didn't want to rent mine from them, because that is just more money in their pockets. I may sound crazy but I promise you they aren't worried about your education they are worried about there pocket book. Also, some students said that the kits were incomplete which was the reason that they failed the state test.

I wish that I could take back the last two years and choose a different school. I feel that my education would have been more beneficial somewhere else.

I wanted to write this review in hopes to help ease your decision making. Aveda might be a great name with a reputation but this particular school misrepresents that big time. Please, please, please save yourself the headaches and heartache. DO NOT GO TO THE AVEDA INSTITUTE OF PROVO!!! I can promise you that you will regret it!
