I attend Avila University and I have been very satisfied with my education thus far. I am an Accounting major and am very happy with my choice here at Avila. My instructors are very instrumental to my success. They are always available and have a open-door policy. The internship program they have is also a good key in earning a quality degree. You can choose any internship program that you wish in the area to help achieve your degree.

Health & Safety:
The nurse that is on campus is very nice and is willing to help you at any time. Only down fall is that it is by appointment and she has certain hours that she is there.

I'm not really sure because I have my own transportation.

Guys & Girls:
You never find a dress code at Avila, some students prefer wear their pajamas to class, since they live on campus. Which I think is sleezy. I think the way a person dress tells a lot about themselves, and how they are perceived by others. I like to start a trend of dressing buisness casual by wearing a dress or suit to class.

There are several options on campus to dine, for instance Subway and Marion Hall. When I began attending Avila University, the only food place I knew about was Subway. It was not until I explored around campus and classes were scheduled in building near the Marion Hall that I later found out there were other options besides Subway. Although I still bring my packaged lunch for those late nights I spend studying on campus.

I came to Avila University because it offered me the challenge to work hard and study. Skills that will not only be in asset in the classroom but also in the real world.

You put in what you get out. I am in the Buisness Management Program, and I"ve been satisfied thus far. I meet with my professors on a regular basis to develop that connection I feel that every student should involve themselves inorder to succeed in their endeavors.

Guys & Girls:
There are several different types of guys AND girls at Avila. There are many people that are very friendly and want to get to know you. But there are also people that prefer to be left alone to study, but for the most part everyone is very nice, and you will always find someone to make friends with.

I feel that the diversity is great on campus. However, the fact that it is a religious college I believe may impact some people's decision on choosing the university. I think the diversity may be greater if the University wasn't religious.

We have a ton of International Students. One of the missions of Avila is to be accepting of everyone.

Most of the professors are very knowledgable about their classes. The curriculum and grading processes are explained at the beginning of the semester and are very consistent. The work load was a little heavy. It would be nice if some classes lessened the work load so students could balance their classes more evenly.

The process wasn't difficult, I just didn't receive all the money I needed and I felt like athletic scholarship money was distributed unfairly.

Avila's nursing program has a very good reputation around the Kansas City area. It's the perfect balance of classwork and lab work.

They have a Subway on campus as well as the cafeteria. However in order to eat in the cafeteria for non-residents is $50 for a meal card.

Avila needs to have a program set up to help people in the Art Therapy program to work in. It is very discouraging to not be able to see first hand what it is like. Some of the graduate programs I have looked at state that you need to have at least a year in the field to apply.

The school needs more instructors and knowledge of the major,

Avila is a small campus so you get to know everyone pretty well, which can be comforting at times and you don't get lost in the crowd like you can at bigger schools. It's close to downtown Kansas City so there is always something to do.

The area is more of a suburb which makes the rent extremely high.

The athletics at Avila are not the best, however the students the school recruits have the drive and determination to never give up.

Suburban location, but close enough to the city to enjoy it.
College Sophomore 2013-02-20T04:48:15Z
The resident parking is limited but all parking is relatively close to campus.

Avila is a hands on school, it is also a religious school and a dry campus so there is no nightlife like D1 schools

I received a good amount of financial aid, the financial aid office and employees were very efficient and knowledgeable. Everything went smoothly and they are good at notifying me if there are any questions.

There are a variety of close affordable restaurants to eat at around the Kansas city area, as well as entertainment events, sporting events, nice parks and shopping areas. The Plaza is a K.C. Favorite as well as numerous indoor and outdoor malls. Student discounts are available and welcomed at events and restaurants.
