No nightlife. Honestly, if you're a person that likes to go out and have a good time, look at other schools. Azusa is great! But its depressing when everyone goes home on the weekend and you're stuck there. It's totally empty on weekends. Even the food on campus is basically closed until certain times. Its not fun and it can make a person that's outgoing and wants to have fun really dislike the school. THERE IS NO NIGHTLIFE. And don't get me wrong. Having movie night is great, but when its every weekend....just cry now. So if that's important to you, don't rule Azusa out completely, but definitely look at other schools.

In my opinion, Azusa is a pretty run down area. There is a nice little shopping outdoor mall, that's up to date and cute! If you read the comment below you can see the stores and restaurants within it. There's a nice theater, and the walk/trolley ride to West campus of pretty as well, but other then that, its rundown. Super sketch at night. And just needs a makeover.

You cant have boys in your dorm between 12 noon through 10 on weekdays, and 12 noon through 11 on weekends. Other than that, its pretty chill!

The newest dorm is Trinity. Its pretty nice! Clean, and up to date bathrooms. Its five stories high, the highest building at APU, and its a co-ed dorm. Engstrom in my opinion would be the next best dorm. Its also co-ed. Smith is the all boys dorm, its also nice. I live in Adams, the all girl dorm. I like it a lot! No regrets or complaints. All the dorms are nice, but Trinity is the best!

Wide variety of places to eat! I know that's the one thing I'm going to miss when I transfer. Food if really good, just stay away from the Cafe!
College Sophomore 2013-01-23T03:38:28Z
No Greek Life. The school wont allow anyone to form them either.
College Sophomore 2013-01-23T03:37:28Z
Really no diversity at all. In the freshman class, I'm more then sure that there is two Latino students, A handful of black students in all years, some Ha wains, and everywhere you go around campus you already knew you're going to see a lot of Caucasian.

Pretty Great Academics! You pretty much get all the classes you want, although you may not get the desired professor depending on your registration date. I'm a Psych major, I'm a freshman, and I already have taken three psych classes for my major!

Every time I have gone in any library on campus, there is a computer available. Printing is about 10 cents, which is pretty average. Having your own computer is nice, but I don't think anyone would be academically handicapped without one. The network is fairly reliable, even when everyone is on. The speed is good enough to video chat with good quality.

No real need for a car, permits cost about $300 per semester for freshman (2x all other levels), not sure about how hard it is to find parking spots but it seems crowded during the week.

There are only academic ones... not what you would normally see or think of.

Azusa Pacific's nursing program is amazing. The professors are always there to help students succeed. The program is intense and it takes a lot of dedication and consistency. However; it prepares students for real life situations that occur in the medical field.

There are a great variety of majors to choose from. Because of the small class sizes you will be able to get all the classes you need and build personal relationships with your teachers. They offer free tutoring and various amounts of helpful resources so that all students can succeed.

There is not much diversity on campus. The majority of students are Caucasian. However; the school does offer different clubs and multiethnic programs for students to take part in.

Azusa Pacific is a Christian university. The school is in an area where there is not much nightlife and the school prohibits any kind of partying.

Health & Safety:
I leave the library at 1/2 in the morning at times and I feel pretty safe. We have campus safety who walks back and forth from the campus to the apartment/dorms, as well as shuttles that you can escort you back to where you need to go within APU.

I dont drink or do drugs at all, but I know people that do. They don't pressure you at all. The drug scene isn't that huge, but for the people that do drugs- everyone knows about it.

There isn't much of a night life here. We make the best of what we have, and if you're looking for some night fun you usually have to do some driving out of Azusa to find something to do.

Directly around campus, there are mostly fast food places. If you are looking for something quick and inexpensive, you'll definitely find it here. Some of the recommended places that students often go to are Alberto's Mexican Food, B-Man's, and Siam Palace Thai Cuisine. There are also a Burger King, Yoshinoya, Chipotle, Panda Express, and a new Chick-Fil-A across the street from East Campus. If you are looking for nicer, sit down restaurants, it would probably be best to have a car, as they are located farther away.

APU just recently remodeled the gym on campus, and it is significantly better than it was last year. There is a weight room, an elliptical/treadmill room, and an area to do lunges and situps. A locker room with bathrooms and showers was also added just this past year. The hours were also expanded in order to allow more students to utilize this resource.

The school has a very hard policy against homosexuality. Some students would say that the policy is unnecessarily harsh.
In terms of ethnic diversity, faculty and staff discuss the importance of diversity. Minorities are very much outnumbered here. Overall, the campus is fairly homogeneous in terms of ethnic diversity and economic status. Most people are white and from the middle class.

Sports are a huge thing on campus and fun to attend/participate in

Many to use in the library...also has an Apple store.

There are many cheap options around campus that meet a wide variety of likes/needs.

APU's mission statement says it best: "Azusa Pacific University is an evangelical Christian community of disciples and scholars who seek to advance the work of God in the world through academic excellence in liberal arts and professional programs of higher education that encourage students to develop a Christian perspective of truth and life."
Azusa Pacific University offers its students an experience that is truly livechanging. Students leave ready to engage the world and impact it for a purpose that is greater than themselves. That's what APU is all about.
