There is a large number of Caucasian students that go to APU. It's probably the price that affect this statistic. The next biggest minority is Hispanics but its only about 15% compared to about 50-60% Caucasian.

Azusa is a good spot for many different things. Disneyland, the beaches, the mountains, and L.A. are pretty much close if you have a car. As far as attitude on campus, pretty much everyone is nice. It's also pretty safe just as long as no one is walking home by themselves at midnight.

Health & Safety:
I do not live on campus because it is a little too expensive, but from what I see, I feel that APU makes a huge impact on the health and safety of their students.I always feel safe and I am always offered healthy choices at every food location. The campus is also kept up and very safe so there are no problems that you can run into there either.Overall, it's great and they do a good job with keeping it safe.

I love how accessible the computers are and how we have wifi everywhere on campus so we can easily use our own computers. The printers are also very convenient in all libraries to print out your papers or homework if needed.

Azusa Pacific has some strict policies about no boys in dorms or apartment rooms after certain times which is totally reasonable since we are a Christian school,we should try to follow by God and not make bad decisions or choices that God would not approve of. I feel that there is nothing that APU does other than requiring so many chapels a week which could get difficult if you are busy with hard courses and outside curricular activities or jobs.

I am in the school of education working on my teaching credential. All of my professors have been in the field for a few years and really can teach the material. Because of the small class size, we are able to have some discussions that help us to understand our material to be able to use it in the future. The workload is tough but as long as you are a good time manager it can be done.

The parking in convenient and the parking permit rates are reasonable. Give yourself enough time to find a spot in your favorite parking area. If you are flexible and are willing to park a little further away you won't have a problem. They are quick to ticket so make sure you are parked legally.

I have no concerns about finding an internship. As an education major I have to student teach. I know it is a lot of work and I don't get paid for it but it is part of the program. I know the there is a lot to do like coming up with lesson plans and implementing them in the 16 week period. I also know that my day does not end there. There is the grading of work and prep time not done during the school day (internship hours).

In front of the main campuses, are bus stops. Where I attend school, about 2 blocks down is the bus stop. However; The majority of students drive on their own or carpool.

APU is a christian university. I don't attend school on their main campus in Azusa. I attend at their regional location here in the high desert. So, I can comment about my facility.

When I went on the on campus tour, it was truly awesome; everyone was nice and friendly and very clean, which is expected because it is a private school. Finally coming onto campus, everything is still the same. However all of the niceness and friendliness because so routinue like, it seems unnatural, especially when you run into the very very religious people on campus. I love them, but they can be very irritating at times.
When it comes to tutition, GET AS MUCH OUTSIDE SCHOLARSHIPS AS YOU CAN! I applied for a lot of scholarships and APU grauranteed at least more than half of my tuition paid and other scholarships from the school. But when I took a look at my Fall tuition statement, they were only going to give me $5,000 out of $28,000. Not to sound greedy, but I can't pay that much, so students loans was my only way to pay.
Academics, it's awesome to chose your own classes because if you complain about your classses, then thats kind of your fault for choosing them. But the academics are amazing; the professors challenge you, yet at the same time they help you, and they are very great with telling you about your assignments. Just make sure to check your Student emails everyday just in case.
Chapel, very very fun. Some speakers are amazing and really touch your heart, however time to time you will have those speakers who will put you to sleep. But DON'T FALL ASLEEP, or you'll loose credit for attendence and you HAVE to attend three times a week.
Overall, APU is a good place. However, the tutition and the high religious standards are just too demanding when your trying just to get a good education.

There is a great variety but I wish they had more available online and at the regional centers.

The campus is very strict about drinking, drugs and parties. As a Christian University, they expect students to understand the importance of living a pure and clean lifestyle. They also take academic integrity very seriously.

The professors are all super helpful in making sure you are doing what you love to do. They help you understand everything. There are so many resources.

Guys & Girls:
There is a diverse selection of guys, although the majority fall under the California hipster variety. Lots of guys have beards. There are also the typical bros in tanks and flip flops.

It's warm and sunny almost year round. Great place if you like that kind of weather, not so great if you want to experience a real change in seasons.

APU is a high quality university. I am very impressed with the level of the courses I have taken. The programs are well structured and the courses are rigorous. The instructors and staff are exellent.

Pain in the BUTT – Parking on campus can be a nightmare! Freshman don't have cars and though that's a nuisance sometimes it's also a blessing. For those living on campus, cars are good for getting you on and off campus, that's about it. DON'T GET TICKETED FOR PARKING IN THE WRONG SPOT! They will charge you out the butt!

Guys & Girls:
Everyone is friendly at APU!!! The returning students are always helpful and welcoming to new students. Everyone is polite and has manners. I have yet to meet a rude person.

Emphasis in Success – The instructors are all nice and understanding. Very approachable. There isn't a wide range or variety of majors to choose from, but they are condensed and intense. Very much intended for the serious student.

Predominantly Caucasian – The diversity is some-what lacking. Although the classes are average to small in comparison to state universities, white/Caucasian students are over represented.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
