The weather is great! Being in southern California, we are blessed with a mild climate throughout the year.

The school is always very helpful and wants to be there for its student body. They have several activities available in order to bring more enrichment to the individual student. It is known to have students be looked at well within the job market. It is a school that has a lot to offer and its staff is very helpful.

If you like hot weather this is the place for you! The only problem with APU weather is the few times when it rains because the drainage systems are poorly set up. Otherwise, Socal weather is great!

- The athletic center is slowly improving as they have added later hours (the late hours are wonderful!), but it is still a very small gym and gets crowded after chapel.
- The libraries are great, especially since we can eat in there now, minus the fees. Two weeks ago I borrowed two movies and turned them both in a day late. They charged me $16. It's ridiculous!
- Campus activities are great for prospectives students and freshmen, but they go downhill fast from there.
- The learning center is great with it's free tutors!

Everything is within walking distance so the need for a car is dependent on how much you want to travel for personal reasons. For those with cars, parking is horrible! There are two campuses and the one that is farther away is used for student parking so the distance causes an inconvenience. Also, campus safety does there job very well when it comes to giving tickets. The permit costs are not bad though.

Students Are Very Respectful of the Campus – The students do not drink or smoke, at least not on campus. Usually any drinking would be off campus and by those who are of age and only on occasion. The students are very respectful of the drinking policies and drugs really are not an issue. It also depends on who you hang out with but most of the fun we have on campus is pure, good old fun.

There Are Plenty of Computer Options – Most people on campus have their own laptops and APU provides internet access that is very reliable and only has occasional problems with connectivity. Each of the two libraries has media centers with plenty of computers and each of the sections within the libraries has numerous computers, accessible with an APU login that is given to each student. For those without printers, each library has multiple printers, however they can be complicated and time consuming, which is not convenient when in a rush to get to class. However, it is not such a problem if you plan ahead or if you have your own printer.

Averages Out – The amount of aid is decent but the costs are very high sometimes.
College Junior 2012-03-27T22:38:47Z
Trolleys Can Be Bothersome – There are trolleys from one campus to the other, but they often run rather slowly and can be annoying. There are buses running to get to anywhere else you need.

Health & Safety:
There has been some campus crime, but it appears that happens on every campus. The main concerns were a few laptop thefts early in the year. Nothing too dramatic though. The school does want to keep you very safe and because it is a Christian campus drinking and such activities are discourage. Campus safety will crack down on parties or drinking be aware of that. Because there are two campuses, there is a shuttle to take you from one to the other late at night, which is nice.

Rain or Sunshine, Azusa Shines – The weather on campus is usually very nice with mostly sunny days. The only downfall is when it rains, which happens only once in awhile.

Guys & Girls:
You will find many students on campus with styles ranging from preppy to hipster. Most students on the Azusa campus is well dressed and stylish. Students are greatly involved with different campus activities and off campus as well. Our Christian campus style is very fresh and hip, creating close relationships with unique interests of music, art, science, etc.

The Best of Azusa – There is a great range of dining from Mexican food to Asian food that is conveniently close for college students including Chipotle, Panda Express, Jamba Juice, Pinkberry, etc. The campus provides great stores with many options and student discounts suited for college students with not very expensive prices including grocery stores. Overall, the off-campus area is super convenient and consists a great amount of options.

Punishments Are Serious – Don't do anything you wouldn't do at home, you will get caught and it will be serious.

Not So Much – Drinking and smoking isn't a big thing at Azusa Pacific University. Its a private-Christian university but it always depends on who you hang out with.
College Senior 2012-03-21T20:08:39Z
Azusa Pacific University is a great way to meet new people. On-campus housing has a great sense of community. The professors work well with their students.
College Junior 2012-03-19T04:34:26Z
It's Very Frustrating – The parking on campus is very frustrating! Freshman have to park on West Campus, the farthest possible lot, and there is very limited parking on east campus for upper class man.

Every facility is up to date, with the appropriate equipment and materials which makes for a very enjoyable experience at each place around campus. The student center, Res Life, and other campus events are always happening and include everyone so that there is always something to do no matter what age you are. The libraries have great hours and are great places to study!

The Scoop – My overall experience has been a positive one and I believe that what set our university apart from other schools is the fact that the teachers are genuinely concerned about the students education.

I really do not know much about the night life at the university. However, I have heard that the nightlife is not much to be desired near the campus, but fortunately Los Angeles is close by so the students travel their to have fun.

Health & Safety:
Feeling Safe on Campus – I have always felt safe at the Azusa Pacific University campus and so have the students I have spoken to about college campus safety. The college always seem to have a good security and police presents so there really are no issues with safety thus far. When an incident occurs, the personnel respond very quickly and the students also seem to be helpful for the most part.

Great Atmosphere but Not Great Living – The freshman options are limited and packed. The dorms are convenient because their in campus but they are small and the toilets clog almost every week. The people are great and so nice, they even have hall dinners and hall dodge ball. The cost is not as bad as the other colleges and the process for housing is simple. the options for upperclassmen is larger, but I don't know much about it.

Never Tired of Eating – The places around campus are great and have variety. The dining hall is good most of the time but if you get tired, there is Mexicali Grill for Mexican food, the cougar's den for burger, pizza and fries, there is a sushi place and a chinese place. There is also a barbeque place and a coffee shop. all of them where you can use meal plans or dinning dollar, which is really convenient.

I came to Azusa Pacific because it had many majors to pick from and most importantly the accounting major I am looking for, but what I found coming here was much more. The professors give you their numbers so you can call them and ask for help or anything. The people are so nice and always ready to help from the advisers to the students. The classes are small and with that atmosphere it makes it easier to want to go to class.

Its What You Put Into It – The people are great if you don't get sucked into the Christian bubble. Once you pass the surfacie fakeness some people put off you will definitely find real genuine people. The academic are challenging but in a great way and I have learned so much already. The social scene is what you put into it. There has been soooo many events it is great.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
