THE BEST THING TO DO! I am so glad I decided too live here. THe people are great and it an awesome environment. The housing isn't super nice but it's definitely ghetto fabulous which is how APU as a whole is. That if we're talking about the people. ha. I'd much rather have a older place than a newer anyways

Variety but Gets Old – Although people may complain about the food, I think it is great! The food is getting better and better as the year goes by. Sometimes the food does get kind of old in the sense that I'm eating the same thing over and over again, but there is lots of variety and it's delicious. But, I'm also not a very picky eater.

Health & Safety:
Good and Getting Better – While the town of Azusa isn't exactly a safe area, the college life is somewhat separated from the danger. Campus housing is usually gated, which keeps strangers from driving unwanted into your complex. You don't have to worry about the college community; they look out for each other when it comes to safety. On that note, the University has recently upped the ante by hiring additional security guards to patrol the area and make sure there's no funny business going on.

Fun College Community – Azusa California is located right at the foothills east of Los Angeles. Warm dry weather is the typical climate, but it's not too warm or too dry. Because the hills are nearby, there is plenty of hiking available. Azusa is mainly a college town, home to Azusa Pacific University and Citrus College. Lots of great places to buy groceries, or sit down for a nice meal. If you are attending APU, check out the sporting events, or the fun community events.

Awesome Place to Live! This school is in Azusa, CA. The campus is simply the most beautiful campus I have ever visited! The mountains are really close and if you love hiking you can always spend a a nice Saturday morning hiking up to the "A" on the mountain. Asides from the campus being overwhelming beautiful, it is also very clean and there are lots of tables outside to study under the shade or in the sun, enjoying the nice warm California weather even in January and February! There never comes a time when I feel that I am not safe, asides from campus safety we also have actual policemen on campus as well. Living in the apartments on campus is nice because there are a lot of restaurants within walking distance such as: McDonald's, Subway, Starbucks, Panda Express, Applebee's, Burger King, Chipotle, CVS, Jamba Juice, a grocery store and etc. This school is also located only 26 miles east of LA, where there happens to be a lot of things to do for fun on the weekends, whether that be visiting museums or shopping, China Town is one of my favorites. Not only is LA only about half an hour away but the beach is about 30 minutes away as well. There's ice skating, roller bladding, going to the beach, going to the city, drive-in movies and so much more fun. This school also offers a lot of sports to play as well as intramurals. On Friday there also is International Chapel which is something that I really enjoy because people from 40 different countries get together to worship and learn together. Malls are everywhere and fairly close. Apart from being very close and a lot of different ones to choose from, they are huge! Everyone here is just so friendly and very welcoming and helpful. I love it here and have never been happier! It's a wonderful place.

God First – Our school's motto is "God First." It is a private, Christian school but it is also open to people of other religions who want to explore Christianity. I love the atmosphere and being around people with similar beliefs as me. It is great walking around campus and seeing a group of students and/or faculty praying together, or the professor starting off class with prayer.

Trolley Sometimes Useful – The trolley is good when you do not have to be somewhere on time. If you are in a rush, it is almost better for you to walk to the other campus because you probably won't make it on time.

Not Good and Unfair – It is so hard to find a place to park in most living areas. Parking is ridiculously expensive for freshman who have to park all the way on the other campus. I do not have a car on campus for it is unnecessary for my needs. Campus safety is strict on giving parking tickets.

Church Intern – I had an unpaid internship at a local church over the summer and it was awesome. I got to teach high school kids in he youth department

It is ridiculous, they require you to have a permit for each campus. There is not a universal permit, students will only buy one and be limited to parking in certain complexes.

Beautiful With Opportunities – When I visited Azusa I was amazed at how beautiful it was. There are mountains near buy but the ocean isn't far away either. It is close a big city which should make weekends fun! There are many opportunities Azusa and its location will provide.

Getting Into the Major – For Social Work majors, one has to apply to be in the program specifically, you can't just declare it. The application process is fairly easy, but professors have hinted that with the recent growth of the program, admission might be much more competitive in the future. For admission to the Social Work program, one will have to write a personal statement and pass an introductory class with a C or better.

There are two campuses at APU, and the trolley system that runs between the two is efficient and free. There are several bus stops around the campus for commuters and also a commuter parking lot, although commuter passes for freshman are quite expensive.

Guys & Girls:
Types of People at APU – Both guys and girls are rather hipster, most people are fit and attractive. There are many friendly people who try to display Christ to others. The upperclassman are more "real" and less focused on coming to the school for their "MRS" degrees than the underclassman. Overall Azusa Pacific has a fun friendly and relatively diverse student body.

APU's San Diego Campus Has a Lot of Offer. Azusa Pacific University main campus is located in Los Angeles, but the second campus is located in San Diego, the heart of Mission Valley to be exact. It is busy city with many attractions. The school's location is across from plenty of shopping malls, resturants, golf course, football stadium and a fifteen miniute drive to the bay. There is always something to do, there is no such thing as boredom when it comes to the city of San Diego.

Personal Car – On campus, we have trolleys and campus saftely shuttles so that we can get anywhere at anytime safely. However, if going off campus, the only choice is a personally owned car or the city bus

THere is not much Diversity in APU. It is mostly White, Christian students and families. However, the minorities are all treated equally and as a minority myself, I feel no difference in treatment

Food at APU – The food i have had at APU is really healthy and delicious but it can be expensive. The service is fast and the dinning places are always clean.

Unique Qualities at School – Being a christian university, there are plenty of groups and people who are willing to accept you and invite you to Bible studies or just talk with you. I find that genuine relationships are hard to find in these times, but not at this school.

Most of the time, azusa is really hot. We only really have two seasons. Summer, and a sligtly colder summer. Southern California normally has those two seasons. Since we are always used to 75-100 degree weather, it really does not affects campus life at all.
College Senior 2012-01-19T07:26:25Z
Computers are not in short supply. In addition, they are fairly recent and up-to-date models, typically Dell PC's, so we aren't using ancient relics. They are all over the libraries. The WiFi is also nice to have, and If you have to bring your own computer to do work on, WiFi is ready to use.
College Junior 2012-01-19T03:32:43Z
Just Say No! Azusa Pacific doesn't really have a drug scene being that it is a Christian campus drugs and drinking are extremely looked down upon and not tolerated. Not to say that there isn't a couple students that might participate in that.

Cougar Pride – Azusa Pacific has a great athletics program whether it be football, basketball, tumbling, or water polo! Cougars excel in almost every sport and the students of APU love watching our team do great! There is a great amount of school spirt and fan support that you can see at games and outside of games.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
