Azusa is not a major hot spot. There are plenty of restaurants to chose from and a local theatre, but other than that everything else is driving distance away

Living on Your Own – APartments around school are not that bad, and many of them are very convenient to how close they are to school and how appropriate they are for college students. The safety however of the neighborhoods around maybe a little sketch in some places, but with the right location, most places are usually fine.

Campus Living and Its Perks – Most of the campus housing are apartment living styles and makes it feel more like living on your own. Its very convenient to how close in proximity the living spaces are to everything and the cost is very reasonable to how nice they are. The living spaces help keep the community that APU tries to preserve and the location of the housing. The only thing that is slowly declining is space, because more people are coming to APU and there is not enough space for everyone.

Dedication in Nursing – It is extremely difficult to get in, but with hard work and time it is worth it in the end. The program is well known and very good in what they teach, however it is difficult to get in, but it shows your hard work and dedication to becoming a nurse. The professors are extremely nice and are helpful with everything because they want to see you succeed.

Sunny All the Time – It is always warm and sunny. It hardly ever rains in Southern California.

No Club Life – Not a big club life campus. More house parties and other activities.

Apu Has a Great Environment. The school is a great school. I live off campus so I don't get to experience the same things as those who live on campus but it's a great school and the people on it are very friendly.

OK Network – The network is not to great but the computers on campus are good.

Being a minority on campus can come with its frustrations. The majority of student are white and come from conservative backgrounds. Anything outside the majority struggle with adapting to how people treat you indirectly. Many times as a minority I do not feel accepted by the students. However, APU instituation makes great efforts to embrace diversity and continuously works on creating community on campus. APU students have a long way to go, but APU institution is making progress in creating community.

Different Food Options, Food Okay. There are many places on campus that offer various types of food. There is a sandwich place similar to subway, there is a sushi place, a quicki market, two dining halls, and two places that offer coffee and various drinks. The food is good, but not anything I would have a craving for.

There are three different libraries on campus. Always can find the book needed and if not there is a system called "links+" which is connected to other college campuses where one can order books from their campus to be shipped to the library for free. Great system and I use it regularly. There are is also plenty of room to study in the library and many available computers.

Guys & Girls:
APU Men – The students at APU are perfect gentlemen. A lot of hard workers and outgoing men. Nothing but the best.

There are many options near the campus. Most are affordable and delicious. My favorite is Taco King, inexpensive and great food.

APU Strictness – The rules at APU are closely aligned with Christian values. Although students that go to public universities may see our school at strict, I think it is pretty laid back for a private school. When I decided to attend APU, I knew they were going to have rules and regulations on the students. I wanted a school that valued Christian morals, so I was not surprised by the rules. Although I enjoy having regulations to keep the Christian values in place, I do think that some of the rules could be a little more lenient. For example, the hours for visitors of the opposite sex in the dorms is 10pm on weeknights and 12 pm on weekends. I think that students who are in college should be treated like adults. Students should be able to study or hang out with friends past 10pm. Another example is not allowing students to be in bathing suits on campus. In September in Azusa, it's about 100 degrees. Many students want to hang out on the grass in their bathing suits, but the school doesn't allow that. Overall I appreciate the regulations, but I think they could be a little more lenient.

The food options on campus at APU do not live up to high standards. Although sometimes I have purchased food at the cafeteria or cafes that have been decent, most of the time the food is not up to par. It is not fresh. There is not much variety. Most things are bland in taste. Overall the campus dining could be tremendously improved.

The computer system at Azusa Pacific University is fairly effective. There are many computers available on campus for students to use. They are located mostly in the libraries. They are very useful and convenient for completing assignments while on campus. One thing about the computer system at APU that is not up to par is the wireless internet access. Many times that I've tried to use the internet, it doesn't connect or works very slowly. The wireless access could definitely be improved.

The housing here at Azusa Pacific varies extremely with each section. There are 4 housing options for Freshmen. I'd say only one of them is extremely nice (Trinity) and the other 3 are average. Sophomore housing is a walk, unless you get into a Mod. Jrs and Srs live in University Village which is extremely nice. All of the housing has different social feels, but they are all good. Easy to connect with people and they always have excellent activities. I just picked my housing for next Fall. It goes by lottery. I of course didn't get the number I wanted, but the lottery is very fair.

Our facilities, on our East Campus, (we have an East Campus and a West Campus, both within walking distance) are wonderful facilities, but they need to be updated. They work fine, but need a major makeover. As far as West Campus goes, it is PHENOMENAL! Its a brand new campus built about 5 years ago. We have two enormous libraries there, gorgeous class rooms and a gymnasium that you would not believe. There is also a newly built Science building where we have countless labs and classrooms.

The school atmosphere is amazing. We are all about community on campus. Off campus, like any other school is not home-like due to the fact that we don't know the residents. We, as a campus, are actually working on that by doing more community events such as clean up days. There is not a lot to do around Azusa, but a major plus to that is that its a quiet place where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. Mind you Downtown LA is only 30 minutes, so feel free to hop in your car or ride the wonderful public transportation (for real, its legit) for just $4!

Registration Was Simple and Easy. The registration process is very communicative. I was informed by mail as well as a personal phone call from my guidance counselor about my admission and my enrollment.
