There are several dining options locate off-campus, which makes it very convenient. The cost is a bit high, but there are many places where student discounts are available. There are many dining options for those who enjoy Mexican food. My favorite is Carmen's, which had been in business a very long time and provides dining at a low cost.

I Do Not Know. i have know a lot of people love the options, but I don;t know enough about it.

Great Community – The housing community is unbelievable at APU. i am super close with all my hall mates that it has become more like a sorority. All the housing options are clean and well kept. The freshmen dorms are very conveniently placed right on campus. Where as sophomores, junior, and seniors get more like apartment styles right by campus.

A Lot of Hangout Spots – Azusa's campus is beautiful with a lot of places to relax and study with friends. The libraries are quiet, clean and organized. The union is a bit lacking but there is always people in there and activities going on. The gym is beautiful, plenty of seating with a good view.

Process Was Good – I received a good amount of financial aid for my school and it was easy getting the information that I needed. It's probably best to make an appointment with your admissions counselor because they are very helpful and love to answer any questions that you have. I had a good experience with my financial aid process but make sure you stay on top of things and if you receive outside aid not directly from your school, make sure you know where to turn it in.

Some Strictness – At my school, we had to sign a waiver before coming to the school that stated we would refrain from alcohol and drug use on campus property. Campus safety can be somewhat strict and lay down the law when it comes to underage drinking off campus but other students should know what they are risking if they decide to engage in these activities on campus. Also the enforcement of the rules depends on the situation.

Professors Are Very Helpful – I am a Liberal Studies major and my focus is Elementary Education. A lot of my professors have actually worked in the field of education outside of Azusa Pacific University so they are very helpful with questions directly related to my field of study. I can get an accurate view of what it might be like pursuing a career in education with the help and information I get from my professors.

The Process Gave Me High Hopes at First – At first I received a large sum from financial services. However another letter came to me through the mail explaining that some grants did not come through which was a change of plans. It saddened me because my parents had to help me more financially. But I was happy that I received some money.

Trolleys Are the Best Option – Public transportation is really good around Azusa campus. They do have buses all the time and from campus to campus we have a trolley system that comes every 7 minutes.

IT SUCKS!!! I have gotten THREE tickets because freshman have to park on the other campus and take a 10 minute walk to get to the dorms so I just park there anyway. It's pretty freaking annoying.

...unless you go off campus. This is a Christian school. You have to go underground.

Guys & Girls:
Boy to Girl Ratio: 4-1 – There are a lot of boys and few girls so the guys are really cocky but they get better in the upper grades.

Great Chrisitan School! APU does a great job in incorporating the Christian aspect in everything they do. Everywhere you go, you are reminded of you're values. It's a nice change in environment, especially compared to public schools.

Our teams, especially fall sports, are amazingly good! However, no one really keeps up with them or goes to the games, unless they are against are rival team.

Health & Safety:
I always feel safe on APU's campus's! It's small enough to know who is a student and who isn't. Campus Safety is always nearby an if you have a late night class they offer to walk you home.
College Senior 2010-12-01T07:16:08Z
Always Something to Do – Almost every night there is something to keep the student body occupied. APU offers many events such as movie nights, dances or even free concerts to keep us occupied.

There are many places within a short driving distance with things to do. The area directly around the school is not great, but if you have a car, the options are limitless. There's the beach, Disneyland, plenty of shopping malls and movie theaters.
College Senior 2010-12-01T07:13:54Z
Right Across the Street – Every type of food you can imagine is literally right across the street from the APU Campus. Whenever im in the mood to mix up my day, I just walk across the street ad try one of the many restaurants in the area. Very awesome selections!
College Senior 2010-12-01T07:11:42Z
Tasty, but Boring – The many different options around campus provide the faculty and students with many tasty meals, but the menu is just too repetitive. It seems like almost every week the menu restarts

There are a lot of parking spaces, but the majority are inconveniently far, especially when someone has to park on the west campus but their class is on the east campus. This is very difficult for commuters. Sometimes the amount of tickets given is ridiculous, especially when someone is in class/work all day and hasn't been able to check their car.

It Is Okay – Azusa Pacific University is growing and making lots of changes, while still keeping firm with being a Christian-based institution. Some of the professors and staff are truly amazing, and others not so great.

Diverse, but Not Perfect – APU has a variety of races, ethnicities, religions, and economic and political standings; however, the majority of the school's population is made of middle to upper class, white Americans from California. The school is currently struggling with their policy and student's views on sexual orientation. APU is seen as a more liberal Christian university, but not all people here are more liberal, nor are they all Christians.
Yearly, school offices sponsor UnLearn Week, where we "UnLearn" prejudices and learn how to love.
The school has problems, like most places, but is learning how to become a diverse body, among both students and staff.

Health & Safety:
As Safe as Can Be – APU Campus Safety has a presence on campus that makes it seem like a more safe place overall. You can call campus safety at any time of the day or night and reach the dispatcher. During night time hours, you can call for a ride so that you do not have to walk back to your living space alone. The Azusa PD works closely with Campus Safety and is called in for larger issues, and also they inform our campus of local issues that pertain to us so that we can be warned. The Mayor of Azusa, Joe Rocha, gave all of the students his personal phone number at orientation so that we can call him if we ever have a problem. Just like any other city, Azusa has crime, but APU is a safe campus to be on and around.

A Great Place to Be – APU is located northeast of LA, so there are always opportunities to drive to the latest happening thing, or out to Hollywood, or even to the beach. Newport Beach is about an hour away, Disneyland is only a half hour away, and an escape to the local Foothills (mountains) can be as little as a five minute drive. Within walking distance, there is a movie theater, Chipotle, 3 different frozen yogurt places, a new Target, a dollar store, two grocery stores, Ross, and many other local resources that a college student might need.
If you get the chance to go, I would recommend getting out to see Griffith Observatory. It is an amazing place, only about 45 minutes away from campus. A great date place too.
The area isn't the safest, but as long as you are not alone, you should be okay. Campus Safety works hard to do their job here.

This is a Christian school so you are suppose to grow stronger in Christ here. But don't come here and expect everyone to be nice and sweet of course there are racist & prejudice people here and roommate who will drive you crazy but I still think this is a good school for the most part.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
