the campus is more like a boarding school than a college

Students Generally All Look Great and Have Great Personalities

Most students at APU have great fashion taste and appear to put effort into their look. There are many beautiful people here inside and out! Great personalities, very open to making new friendships and the relationships are usually very genuine. Very genuine people. There is diversity at the school but not to the point where everyone is divided to their ethnicity groups, it feels very mixed.

Conservative and Religious

The students at Azusa tend to be on the conservative side. Most stress their religious values.

Beautiful With Opportunities

When I visited Azusa I was amazed at how beautiful it was. There are mountains near buy but the ocean isn't far away either. It is close a big city which should make weekends fun! There are many opportunities Azusa and its location will provide.

Not Much Diversity in APU

THere is not much Diversity in APU. It is mostly White, Christian students and families. However, the minorities are all treated equally and as a minority myself, I feel no difference in treatment

Terrible Help

I have numerous problems with financial aid for this school for two semesters in a row. No one really helps you out when it comes to taking care of an owing balance.

I Love the Rules We Have

I don't think any of the rules we have are too strict. There are not a ton of rules, but I love the rules we have.

Utterly Outrageous

The school tuition is already over priced and they tack on an addition $150 per semester to park and there is limited parking right in front of the school buildings but there is an old drive in lot that is huge and can accommodate a large number of cars. The only problem with that lot is there is little security a lot of mugging and near rapes and it is too far away from the school buildings, especially when walking late at night. In order to get a decent parking spot you must come to school at least a half hour early.

Campus Strictness

Our campus is not that scrict, compared to other schools. Mostly I think it's because no one really does anything that's too illegal on campus.

Liberal Christian School

APU is a pretty liberal Christian school.

I feel like this is a place where you can experience

aspects of both secular and private Christian university.

You have just enough freedom to feel like you are out of the Christian bubble or sheltered community. Rules and regulations are very reasonable in that it keeps all the values that a Christian school should absolutely keep, but giving you room to make your own adult choices. Just make sure you hangout with the right people to stay out of trouble ;)

It's Okay

Good academics and social life but it's predominantly Caucasian and no one is really here on the weekends.

APU Men

The students at APU are perfect gentlemen. A lot of hard workers and outgoing men. Nothing but the best.

Registration Was Simple and Easy.

The registration process is very communicative. I was informed by mail as well as a personal phone call from my guidance counselor about my admission and my enrollment.

Inconvenient

There are a lot of parking spaces, but the majority are inconveniently far, especially when someone has to park on the west campus but their class is on the east campus. This is very difficult for commuters. Sometimes the amount of tickets given is ridiculous, especially when someone is in class/work all day and hasn't been able to check their car.

It Is Okay

Azusa Pacific University is growing and making lots of changes, while still keeping firm with being a Christian-based institution. Some of the professors and staff are truly amazing, and others not so great.

Christian

This is a Christian school so you are suppose to grow stronger in Christ here. But don't come here and expect everyone to be nice and sweet of course there are racist & prejudice people here and roommate who will drive you crazy but I still think this is a good school for the most part.

Night-Life

We are near LA if your looking for trouble you'll find it if your looking for clean fun you can find that too.

California Sunshine

Usually warm and sunny but the cold weather is a nice change every once in a while.

Eh

I like them. They're fairly nice and close to campus, but I dont think we should have to pay for parking if we're living off campus

Non-Existent Nightlife

There is no nightlife at or near APU. The best places to go are 20-30 minutes away in Pasadena or 15 minutes away in San Dimas, and even those options are limited. The only nightlife you will find is students who are still studying taking random breaks to hang out in courtyards. Night transportation does not exist.

Above Average Facilities

West Campus facilities are beautiful (although very white and too bright on sunny days) and all of the classrooms and the gym are taken very good care of. East campus is nice, but the standout features are definitely the flowers and not the buildings.

Just Okay

The food is incredibly expensive for the options. The food options could be more healthy and more interesting as well.

School of Education

I'm halfway through my Master's and Credential program. I have found many of the professors professional and enthusiastic however, the department needs help when it comes to job fairs and networking. There are no clubs to join or social outlets to network and pick the brains of colleagues and professors. There has been little support for finding work at schools. The department chair needs to step down as they have been know to make rude comments in class and has raid his voice as well. Not very Christian.

Overall, I am happy because what I have put into my education has been a great deal of effort and have I achieved an honorable status. I enjoy the program and what I am learning.

Not Enough Parking Spots

We have enough parking spaces as a whole, but some parking lots are quite far away from main campus and may create issues for security late at night. Parking lots on main campuses aren't that safe from breaking in either.

THE RATIO

As a guy at APU, we LOVE the ratio. The girl to guy ratio is 3 to 1. There are A LOT of girls! Social life at APU is never dull. You'll always find different types of people no matter where you go. Though you will find those who shut out those they don't like, BUT give it a go. You'll find the right fit.
