College Prowler Take
The dining facilities at Babson are not too shabby, with the exception of negative student opinions about the Trim Dining Hall. But even with all the incessant complaints about long lines, nutrition, and food variety, everyone admits that the food options here are the best in comparison to any other college they have visited. A relevant issue that some students bring up is that all resident students are required to be on the meal plan. With the average meal plan costing more than $2,200 per semester, it is reasonable for some to be upset. Although this is true, a Gold Dining Plan also consists of $175 in Babson Bucks and 25 blocks of Reynolds Meal Exchanges. A block is a unit of credit that is good for one meal in Reynolds Hall. Generally, students use up their prepaid Babson Bucks on the smoothies, Woody’s famous coffee, or some muffins to munch on in between classes. Fortunately, students have an option of getting a Platinum Plan, which provides them with unlimited access to Trim, more Babson Bucks, and more Reynolds Meal Exchanges. Overall, if a student is not satisfied with the meal plan options, he or she can also eat in the Olin Hall (where Babson Bucks may also be used), off campus, or order for a delivery. The food at Trim isn’t really bad—it just gets boring after a while. This phenomenon seems to happen in almost every college, but the wealthy and sometimes much too needy Babson residents love to complain about it. Trim offers options ranging from a vegan bar to a grill bar, with salads and sandwiches in between. There are many other choices at Trim—you can even make your own waffles! Although many students love to complain about the dining arrangements at Trim, many still come there to eat most mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

Trim has its days. I like Reynolds because I know what I am getting each time since the menu does not change. Also, it would be helpful to have a list of calories or some type of nutrition information by the food at Trim, because you never know what you’re going to get. |

Food is good and most likely better than any other school. Trim is more than fine for a dining hall. Reynolds is a nice luxury for your meals and for spending Babson Bucks or whatever. Nothing is offered late, however, since it is a small school, that has come to be expected. In that case, Domino’s is the alternative. |

The dining services are very good. Food is fresh, but not always for my taste. Dining halls have limited hours, but Reynolds is good, and it’s open late. |

There is a large variety of food to pick from, but it doesn’t seem very nutritious to me because I like cooking homemade food. Trim does try to provide variety for students by organizing festive dinners about once every two weeks. Examples from the past include Mardi Gras, Chinese, Russian, Indian, and Hawaiian home-styled food. The cheesecake at Trim is delicious, but most of the other desserts are not on my favorites list. Sodexo Services is a very prestigious catering group, but I wish that they offered more variety on a daily basis. |

We have one main cafeteria and another two smaller places to grab food. The food is pretty good, but it gets repetitive with time. |
