College Prowler Take
It’s not too hard to find a dealer on campus, but not many students want people to know that they’re actually seeking one out. Marijuana has been seen in rooms, and people have been caught smoking it in residence halls, but those incidents are few and far between. It’s rare that students would rat out their peers, especially when it comes to drug use on campus. The people who do drugs on campus keep it on the downlow and don’t ever talk about it with anyone but their close friends. Therefore, just like in any other place with a student population, there is some drug use, but it’s not prevalent. It’s about being able to distinguish who does drugs and who doesn’t on a daily basis—nobody really knows unless they are told about it, and that rarely happens.
Overall, drugs are not a problem at Babson, at least not a visible one. Although people sometimes appear high at parties, nobody really knows if they are on drugs or if they are sleep deprived due to staying up late doing homework. Waking up with bags under your eyes and the use of Visine is common, but it doesn’t mean you will be suspected of being a drug user here. It’s true that some students abuse prescription drugs and other substances because they think it will help them study, but this is also not very widespread on campus, or at least it’s not widely talked about.

In my experience, the drug scene basically consists of marijuana. I haven’t come across any hard drugs in my time here. Marijuana isn’t widespread, but it is definitely a presence on campus. |

A decent amount of people do coke, prescriptions, and marijuana. It’s not as noticeable because nobody talks about it. |

People keep it in their rooms; out of sight and out of mind. |

The campus seems pleasantly clean of drugs. I’m sure that it goes on behind the scenes, but not a lot—it’s not obvious, and I don’t know many people that are addicted to drugs. |

I’ve never witnessed any drug...
I’ve never witnessed any drug worse than weed being used on campus. That doesn’t mean that drug use doesn’t happen, but it does mean that it isn’t everywhere, and that it isn’t obvious. |
