In the dorms, strictness really depends on how strongly the staff chooses to enforce the rules. Drinking in the dorms is generally tolerated, so long as people behave themselves and keep yelling and loud music to a minimum. Marijuana busts are frequent, and the penalties can include expulsion from the University. However, punishment is generally limited to the offender’s expulsion from the dorms. Students face expulsion and criminal charges if they are caught using or possessing harder drugs like cocaine, opium, methamphetamines, or ecstasy.

The Campus Is Strict but I Feel Safe

There are strict rules for people living on campus but they're not terrible just sometimes a hassle. The strictness does make me feel safer though and that they care about the people living in the dorms

Swiping Into the Dorms After Midnight Is Awful.

It's like you're being babysat. You can only sign one visitor into your dorm per night, even if they're students. Worst rule ever. so annoying.

Academic Policies

The university is fairly strict about underage drinking and drug use. First-time offenders' parents are usually notified, but second or third-time offenders face serious consequences such as losing on-campus housing or probation. It is best to be smart about it, and to make sure to have a designated driver.
