Advice on Finding a Job/Internship The quality of the job or internship you get really depends on your major and your ambition. The Career Center is there to help with events like job fairs and with résumés, but it’s important to remember that they’re not there to do the work for you. Although the Career Center offers some assistance, most students agree that finding a job or internship is ultimately up to the individual. Some words of advice include: • Start looking for a job or internship as soon as you can. • Don’t be afraid ask your professors and classmates if they know of any job or internship openings. • Send your résumé out to as many employers as you can. • Don’t rely on the Career Center or an internship coordinator in your department to find you a job or internship.
