Ask anyone at Ball State, and they’ll tell you Muncie weather can be extreme. In the summer, the weather is dominated by sweltering, sun-burnt days. People wear as little clothing as possible, sit in the air conditioning if they have it, and sweat and complain about how hot it is and “For God’s sake, when is it ever going to cool off?” Temperatures usually top off in the high 80s to low 90s, but it’s a draining, humid heat—so keeping hydrated is very important. In fall, things are really quite pleasant. It’s generally sweater weather, with sunny days and crisp autumn breezes. However, occasional heavy rains make buying an umbrella a good investment. In winter, Ball State’s campus is assaulted by blasts of sub-arctic death winds that whip around the buildings and seep through the windows. Bundled up in as many layers a they can get their frozen hands on, students walk quickly and think warm thoughts. Temperatures in winter can dip down to below freezing and stay there for days. Also, adverse weather conditions such as ice storms can cause power outages and considerable transportation problems. Hats, gloves, and heavy coats are a must. Many students have also taken to wearing long underwear or flannel pants under their jeans. For the most part, spring is like winter, only slightly warmer and rainy. Muncie in March is less like a lion or a lamb, and more like the hangover you get after 50-cent pitchers night at The Chug. It’s gray and groggy and gloomy, but there are the occasional sunny days that leave you thinking that it might not be that bad after all.

Relatively Nice
For the most part, it's absolutely beautiful! Tends to rain often, but not that bad.

Average
The whether is pretty mild, what I would expect being in Indiana. Sometimes it's a little bi-polar where it's 80 degrees one day then back down to 40 the next.
