Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Barry is a great university because it feels like its own community, yet everyone is so diverse and different. The class sizes here are small, and the professors are welcoming, warm, and give students personal attention, allowing for close-knit relationships to form between faculty and students. This makes each student feel like an individual who actually matters to the University. And it’s not just the professors who are welcoming—the other students here are very friendly, as well. From late-night snack runs to eating at the local restaurants with friends, students will create enough memories here to last a lifetime. Another perk is that Barry is very generous with financial aid, so if you think you can’t afford the tuition at this private school, think again.

And the fact that Barry is in Miami makes it even better. With its amazing beaches, clubs, restaurants, and entertainment, this city truly has it all! So if you’re looking for a unique college experience, give Barry a try, because as the motto says, “Barry is where you belong.”

If You Like Girls, You'd LOVE Barry University

The boys are ..not so cute. On the other hand, Barry is just crawling with cute girls. The entire student body is pretty diverse, though. There are people from all over the US, as well as The Bahamas, Jamaica, Germany, China, Haiti, Africa, just to name a few. I love that so many cultures are represented at Barry.

No Variety.

There are a couple organizations, but no real variety. There's only one D9 organization. Furthermore, Barry is really strict about letting them have any parties. Since I've been a student at BU, I don't recall the university letting them have any parties, although you can see them around campus, usually doing something benign, like selling donuts. That said, there's no discrimination between Greeks & non-Greeks; they're usually pretty cool with everyone.

Some Standout Programs

The biology department is really good. There's lots of variety; depending on what you want to do, you can get a degree in Bio that's specialized to veterinary science, marine biology or dentistry, just to name a few options. The nursing & podiatry programs also get really good marks.
