The Greek system at Barry offers a sense of community and provides many on- and off-campus activities for Greeks and anyone interested in Greek life. Plus, everyone gets along and has a lot of fun. One favorite event is Greek Week, which consists of the Greek Olympics, a dance/sing-off competition where fraternities compete against sororities, fundraisers where the donations go to charitable causes, sporting events involving the entire campus, and motivational speakers throughout the week. It is safe to say that Barry University has a no-tolerance policy for hazing, so if you are looking for that sort of entertainment, go elsewhere.

The downside to Greek life at Barry is that many students—Greeks and non-Greeks alike—say they feel like the University does not desire to have a Greek community. The school barely helps out with events, Greek awareness, or student involvement with Greek life. However, this is slowly changing as Greeks grow larger in numbers. And Greek life will only continue to grow at Barry because the Greek community is creating solid bonds and an awesome reputation on campus. Soon, everyone will recognize Greek life on campus, especially the administration.
