Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Off-campus housing near Barry can be a bit pricey, so roommates are unavoidable unless you have a lot of money to spend. But, if you’re still set on finding an apartment, make sure to start looking early! Check out Craigslist, apartments.com, or even Google "apartments in Miami" if you have to. You can also look on Facebook for Barry students who may be looking for a roommate off campus. The University may even assist you in finding affordable off-campus housing if you ask. Whatever you do, don’t wait two weeks before arriving at school to try to find an apartment. If you stay on top of your housing game, you will not have a tough time finding a comfortable, safe, and affordable place to live, and many Barry students enjoy sharing an off-campus place with friends because they can party without as much interference and just get away from campus if they want.

However, if you are unsure about where you should live, the experience of living on campus is definitely worth it. You will never miss out on fun campus activities Barry offers, and you won’t have to worry about working long shifts just to pay rent every month. Not to mention, the price of food is included in your housing costs, the air-conditioning and heat are free, and life is less stressful thanks to less time working and more time focusing on education and the college life. So, make sure you look at all your options before deciding on a place to live. Miami is an expensive place to live, and if you do not do your research, you may be out of luck when trying to find an affordable apartment.

Could Be Better

The old dorms needs a lot of work, but the new ones are very beautiful and they seem to be building more so its improving.

To Dorm or Not to Dorm

While there are many apartments and housing surrounding my school, I have heard the best review come from Holly House Apartments. these apartments are actually part of Barry University and they are within walking distance of the school. i would prefer to live here because it is cheaper than the actual dorms and you get to live in an apartment with a kitchen and living room. Also, if driving is an issue for you then it takes about 7 minutes to walk from Holly House to campus. Holly House apartments are clean, furnished, and very live-able.

Rentals

I stay off campus as campus housing is very expensive and also you have to share the room with 4 other people. I chose off campus housing in order to be able to better concentrate on my school work and studies.
