Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Many students find parking at Barry to be a bit difficult. Unless you arrive early, you may have to park in the overflow lot, which is the farthest from the buildings. The commuter parking lots are on Northeast 111th and Northeast 115th streets, but many  park in the dorm lots to avoid the drama of trying to find parking spaces in the commuter lots. On the plus side, parking permits are free, regardless of whether you’re a resident or commuter.

If you are in a rush, be careful to abide by the rules, or you may get a ticket. Non-moving violations will result in a $30 ticket, while moving violations will get you a $50 ticket. If you park in a disabled person lot without a permit, you will be charged $75. So, make sure you understand the rules of parking before bringing your car to campus; otherwise, you may find yourself in the Public Safety Office, complaining about the ticket you received. Overall, the best advice when it comes to parking at Barry is get to campus earlier than most students, and you will rarely have to worry about parking issues.

Good Luck Finding Parking

The parking lot is a block away from Barry University. Students must waste time by waiting for a shuttle to pick them up to take them to Campus.

Depends Who You Are

Parking is horrible if you are a commuter student. If you live on campus for the most part it is alright. With the new dorm going up it all could change. However, as of now people who are commuters sometimes have to go to the overflow lot. As a result makes sure you get up early to get parking. If you live on campus you should definitely have a car or know someone who does. There is not much to do on campus(that is party like) so a lot of people leave and go to the beach, clubs, and such on weekends.
