The students at my school are very blunt and straightforward. They know exactly what they want from their education and take full advantage of what the school offers. A lot of students at my school are low-income and come to school highly motivated and ready to work.

The online courses I've taken do a great job of keeping its students engaged and always learning something new.

My school doesn't really have post-grad services. My school focuses on career training augmented by academic courses required to complete the program.

I have always been able to get ahold of my academic councellor, but the communication about what general education classes are needed for me was a little confusing and I was not told that I would need to pay a little over what I was given in financial aid.

No matter what I'm looking for someone is able to point me in the right direction.

I haven't used the computer network at the school yet, but I am told its very good.

I love that they have cheap daycare for my son while I'm in school. I wish that I was informed ahead of time that financial aid wouldn't completely cover all the classes I needed to take the first quarter.

The academics are very applicable to subjects outside school and the teachers are very good at maintaining a steady workload.
College Senior 2013-06-08T18:13:13Z
My school offers students their own on-campus email address for keeping up with school and it's incredible helpful. The computer lab itself isn't too impressive, but it's a small quiet place for student to focus on their work

I'm a culinary major and I love how my instructors didn't waste time in the classroom immediately put me to work in the kitchen, though without throwing me under the bus, and giving me the hands-on training I need.
College Senior 2013-06-08T17:59:18Z
What sets my school apart is the fact that it doesn't waste time and money teaching useless subjects. Everything you learn you can quickly apply it to the real world and its difficulties.
College Senior 2013-06-08T17:57:08Z
My school is very good at helping disabled students and the teachers are very relatable and very good at making the schoolwork more applicable. My only compliant is that the school is in the middle of downtown Tacoma and the area's very crowded

I have yet to need the Career Service center but previous students have told me good things so i am not worried when graduation comes about them helping me find a job and be prepared for the interviews

My instructor is very involved in my education. He gives me a lot of hands on experience and explains everything well and thoroughly.

I really like it at this school before I was at clover park tec. And that school was so unorganized that it was just one stressful thing o another bates is so much more organized and you study the right classes with out the stress of objective classes
College Senior 2012-12-17T17:31:55Z
Most of the students want to be here. but the few that dont tend to mess it up for those of us who do want to learn.

the chefs have been great with flexablity. they know that we have lives out side of school. like other classes and kids

This is only my third week here at Bates, so far all of the faculty I have met are very friendly, and even remembered my name and who my husband is after only meeting once. The best part was how the advising staff help you enroll in the right classes, right from the beginning, so you don't wast your time with the wrong classes.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I feel that there were some fees that could have been avoided or calculated into the tuition for the year before school had started.

I chose this school for the culinary program. The chefs know most of have to take additional classes for academics and are very understanding. I had no trouble transferring the classes I have already taken and had alot of support from registration and student services with knowing what classes I need and how to set up a plan of action for the degree I am going for.

I am currently a student at Bates and do not graduate until 2014.

Although I did very well with my online course, I prefer classes in person. I did learn alot and had access to my instructor for any questions, I like the chance to ask questions immediatly and counter any questions or answers I received with more questions or debates.

our wireless network is not very powerful and very slow. the printers don't work very well and you have to pay for everything.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
