College Prowler Take
With all the new buildings and upgrades going on in the school’s attempt to reach the Vision 2012, it’s amazing that Baylor public relations hasn’t started sending out brochures that look like advertisements to a five-star resort. The list of amenities reads like a vacation on a cruise ship, and unfortunately, more-and-more universities have to sell themselves to their prospective students based on extracurricular accommodations. But if we are going to judge universities on the facilities they provide, then Baylor definitely gets five stars because what the town lacks in atmosphere, the school makes up for in service. Short of having a butler bring up your dinner and keeping a personal assistant in-tow, Baylor really has gone above and beyond to offer students state-of-the-art facilities. In general, the school really does its best to give students a variety of activities to choose from. The facilities all cater to this goal, but sometimes it just doesn’t matter because you get sick of doing all the same stuff over and over again. Most students that go to the SLC are workout junkies or just bored. Common Grounds is a pretty neat, hip little coffee shop, but it stays packed. The SUB, where you can bowl, shoot pool, play foosball, and just waste some time if you’re broke or under twenty-one, is actually one of the least-used resources. The SLC is open until midnight, Common Grounds is right across the street from campus, the environment in the SUB is pretty mellow, and there is almost always some kind of event going on; you’ve just got to look for it.

The Science Building is huge, and it's the nicest building on campus! The SLC (Student Life Center) has a mini-pool (with a water slide!), a climbing wall, and a weight room. There's a marina with kayaks! The campus is beautiful. My mom wanted to hate it because she didn't want me to go out of state, but even she admitted it was beautiful!

The facilities at Baylor are...
The facilities at Baylor are absolutely amazing! I have never seen a more beautiful campus. The science building is huge, and it is a wonderful place to study. The Student Life Center has a rock wall, a pool, an indoor track, three levels of exercise equipment, racquetball courts, and about anything you can imagine. The outside of the buildings are intricately designed and lovely. There are Bible verses on many of the sidewalks and buildings at Baylor, and I love to read them when I am walking around campus. The Student Union Building has a Chick-fil-A, Sbarro, Ninfas, and Quiznos, and there are four residence halls where food is offered on campus. The food is delicious!

The facilities are really nice. The SLC is a really nice work out place, though you want to hit the weight room before 8 a.m.–9 a.m., or it becomes a sweat sauna. Computers are decent, but a lot are getting outdated quickly, and they are getting really slow. |

The school is going into debt to make itself look nice to the public and incoming students and professors, so all the facilities are in good shape. |

Favorite Things To Do
Baylor gives its students plenty of things to do, including pocket billiards, shuffle board, darts, bowling, ping pong, rock climbing, racquetball, indoor swimming, fitness centers, basketball, and volleyball. In addition to that, you can always catch a play, watch a movie, or attend an athletic event; all without ever leaving campus.
In the Student Life Center (SLC, pronounced “Slick”) you can always find something going on. Whether you’re there to play some ping pong with a friend, swim a few laps, work out, climb the rock, or catch an intramural game, the SLC is the campus nerve center for activities. In the SUB, you can study, grab a bite between classes, work on the computers, check your mailbox, or catch the news or a game on the two big-screen TVs near the back of the building.
