For a Christian college, things are pretty laid back. Alcohol and related paraphernalia are not permitted on campus, but off campus use, at least by those of legal age, is permitted. While a tobacco-free campus, they don't prevent you from having it, as long as it's used outside of school grounds. Penalties aren't severe if you're not a repeat offender, with the exception of violence and illegal activities, which will more than likely result in your expulsion. Academically, if your GPA falls under a certain threshold, you're given a semester to bring it back up to acceptable levels. Should you be unable to do so, you will likely find yourself under a semester of academic suspension. For the most part, the rules aren't terribly restraining, and many students can spend the entire span of their education there without receiving a summons to the Dean of Student Life's office.

The strictness on campus is just for our protection. I appreciate the security measures they have in place, the noise curfew, and rules on drugs and alcohol. I'm sure some people complain about the rules, but there will always be those people.

Belhaven holds high standards for their students. For the most part students abide by these standards and understand why they are in place. The strictness is for the physical, mental and emotional safety of every person on campus.

We have campus security who patrol the parking lot every night. There are also security who walk around campus as well as the dorms. They do not really give people a hard tome for no reason. They are fairly easy to get along with. They do highly enforce the rules tho.

The strictness is high, but necessary. It maintains the order and the peace on campus facilities.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
